Well I normally don't write reviews or for that matter read that many here but I thought I would post a couple of items.

Disney dining Plan was a great hit for us. We really liked it and was surprised at how much food we got. We ended up having 5 quick service items left over, and I will not make that mistake again. (There were 5 adults in our group)

We always told our server or counter service person that we were on the plan and it made things easier.

We did use 2 of our Table Service meals for the Calif Grill which was well worth the cost. A GREAT restaurant.

We also usually had drinks (liquor) and paid for those in cash and tipped on that amount in addition to the built in tip on the plan.

I would say some of our Best meals on the plan were of course CG but also, Mama Melrose, Yak and Yeti(a family hi-lite) and Japan.

I'm not into snacks that much but we did enjoy a soft serve sundae or a bottle of water if needed. Disney has really done a great job on that dining plan and we may use it again. The only down side is that we do not eat as much food as what was offered. I think we all felt that if it's included, we should order it but in the end we were overfed. I think we will try to do more TS meals at lunch to "walk them off" or use more 2 meal credits and splurge on a couple of meals.

A great trip and very good food. The only complaint I had was at the San Angel Inn. Our food was excellent but lukewarm. I am real picky about having my food hot and that was a disappointment. Other than that, excellent everywhere.

Could you tell us what made Yak and Yeti a hi-lite for you? What did you order? Thanks!!

I'd like to know the same about Yak and Yetti and Mama Melrose. What did you enjoy there? What made them so special?

We will be going to both in Jan! :cool1: Can't wait!

first off, it was on the Disney Dining Plan. They are not yet taking ADR’s as of last week so we walked up to the podium, gave our name and were told 30 min wait. It was no more than 15min for 5 of us.

We sat down, orderd cocktails – there were a lot to pick from 3 of us at the table each had a different one, I had water and my husband and a fountain drink.

There were plenty of appetizers to order from. My son got the dim sum steamed basket, 2 got the potstickers, I got eggrolls and my husband got something else but I can’t remember. A good portion on the plate – all cooked perfectly

Lunch - my husband, son and I had the skirt steak and shrimp tempura. Marinated steak, a good size portion and 5 shrimp in a very light batter. My son’s GF had the Mahi Mahi – loved it. My daughter had the sweet and sour chicken.

Dessert, Mango pie with whip cream – son – I don’t care for mango but he loved it.
I had the fried wontons stuffed with a sweeten cream cheese filling skewed with pineapple, drizzled with honey and some other gooey thing with a scoop of ice cream – YUM. Daughter and Son’s GF shared a huge brownie, hot fugde sundae

I will surely go back!!!

Mama Melrose - Love their Sangria, and have not had a bad meal there yet. We first discovered this place when we were on the backstage tour - we were brought there for lunch. Since then we have been back almost every time we go to Disney and sometimes 2x. Again, we had not made an ADR for lunch but asked about availability at around 11am. We got in at 12:15 and they were pretty much booked totally by the time we showed up a little after 12.

Awesome! What did your daughter think about the sweet and sour chicken?

What did you guys like at Mama Melrose?

daughter( a pastry chef) LOVED the sweet and sour chicken. She is very fussy so it’s not always easy to try new things. I had bought the three “kids” 25,26 & 28 Lunch with an Imagineer as their Christmas Present. They had some kind of soup – I knew she would never try but she did and loved it. Cobb salad – again fussy pants tried it and loved it. She did, however, pick out the cheese. Disney dining has made it possible for her to try things and expand her horizons. She now has a new set of chopsticks from Japan and will be doing stir-fry – go figure!

Mama Melrose. Hub and the pasta and shrimp – excellent. 2 had flatbreads, son and I had the Tuscan chicken on olive bread – I do not like olives (where does she get that fussiness from??) but I can pick off what I don’t like.

Crema Limone – Mark – excellent and sugar free – very light.
Warm Chocolate Truffle Cake - Nick - ok
Tiramisu - Me. – good
