We spent a lovely day at Epcot today with good weather and very short lines. We were surprised to see La Hacienda open. We were seated at about 5:30, and only half of the tables were taken.

I will be happy to answer any questions, but here's a brief summary.

The restaurant is lovely. The view of illuminations will be outstanding, though we didn't stay long enough to see it this time.

All the employees were very excited. They were a bit green, but their inexperience was far outweighed by their enthousiasm and excellent service. Apparently today was the first day they are open.

The food was excellent, but quite pricey. The portions were large and nicely presented. I wanted to try a margarita, but at $13 each I had to pass, and ordered a beer instead. We ordered a seafood platter for two and the pork tenderloin split between the 3 of us. It was plenty of food. The pork came with beans, rice, and delicious homemade corn tortillas. We left stuffed.

They DO take the Tables in Wonderland card. I used it.

Sounds great!

Thanks for the review! The menu looks wonderful, and I love having all these new World Showcase restaurants to try!

Yum, that sounds great! Thanks for posting your review! Looking forward to checking this place out.

Thanks so much for posting your feedback as I made an ADR for dd and I for the end of next month. I was a little skeptical after reading the menu which seems somewhat limited although I know they just opened.

I also noticed the prices and was wondering if they took the TIW card. Since they do I think we will definitely give it a try even if we go for a few of the apps instead of ordering entrees. Although the pork tenderloin does look appealing. How did you like it? That's an option that dd may want to split which I would be up to.

DD still likes ordering from the kids menu and in this case she probably will be cause I don't think she'll find an entree to her liking unless I can talk her into the pork tenderloin (which is ok by me).

I'm curious to see if they add anything to the menu. We will be there over Halloween weekend so I'm sure by then they'll any kinks worked out.

I appreciate the information. Do you think Illuminations will be visible from all the tables, or just some like Rose and Crown? Also, was there a vegetarian menu?

:)

I looked at the menu and was very interested in the seafood dish listed under the "For Two" section...but I'll be dining alone. Does anyone know if I could order that as a single portion? I eat a lot but not that much!

In the main dining room all seats will get some view of Illuminations. The windows are very high curved arched windows and all seats are arranged for people to get a view - perpendicular to the windows.

There is no specific labeled vegetarian dish but they will accommodate your request. At the podium when we walked in they asked if we had any special dietary needs.

DH wanted that Del Mar dish for '1' and they wouldn't do it. We noted that on a comment card we were given. Other wise his only choice for seafood was a tilapia taco I believe, not sure.

Thanks for the review, we are so excited to eat there! Do you recall the types of margaritas they had? Were they similar to the ones at the Ditch?

Any idea if they take DDP? I read somewhere else that they don't but I find that hard to believe since it's so popular. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like they did a good job with the layout. I'll bet they'll be a big hit.

:)

The only one duplicated between the Ditch (La Cava) and La Hacienda was the Classica, on the rocks not the San Angel which is served chilled.
Same style glass, salts, tequila, etc just different blends.

I seem to recall that there WAS a vegetarian dish and that I thought about ordering it, but, unfortunately, I can't reacall what it was. Sorry.

The margaritas all sounded really interesting. I really wanted to order one with bluberries, basil, and maybe pomegranate(??), but decided that at $13, it was just too expensive.

Under Starters there is a Black Bean Soup and also a Spinach Salad but no vegetarian dish in the Entrees, that I remember.

$13 for a Margarita!!! I would go for the beer, too, but that was probably $9.00. :scared1:
