Just Back...crowds Are crazy & magic is low...

We just returned from a long weekend at WDW, stated at Port Orleans Riverside & did Epcot and Hollywood. I've been at Disney almost every year of my life. It's a bit sad for me. So many nice things to see and do, but more people than *ever* and no slow season left anymore. The Magic is nearly gone for me. At least I still have the cruise line. Does anyone know when the slow days are anymore or are they just a myth!?!

I said that to my DH just today. Too many hotels. Not enough parks. If you're selfish, I am too. I miss the days why no one went to not so scary in early October. We didn't even go this year, our first miss in 11 years. It's so sad to watch the magic get sucked away. I may never set foot in the parks again. It was awful. No room to move. No room to breathe. Lines for everything. Disney transport is a nightmare. I love Disney and it is just so sad. I'm doing universal next time. :(

I've always felt responsible for creating my own magic - sorry crowds take yours away.

I can't "like" this enough. No matter what the circumstances at the park, being in the right mindset and being grateful that you're there with the people you love make all the difference. It might sound hokey, but just having my amazing family and being fortunate enough to be able to frequent Disney as often as we do is our magic and we are never disappointed. I expect decent customer service and appreciate those that go out of their way but ensuring a magical time for my family falls on me.

The definition of "slow" isn't the same as it was 10-15 years ago. Disney doesn't want low crowds so they have devised all sorts of ways to attract people during traditionally slow times. While there are times with lower crowds, it's not like it used to be. But with a good plan you can always make the most of your time no matter how crowded it is.

The trip will be exactly what you make of it. Whatever your expectation is, that is what will be met.
Some people are miserable and crabby and complain about everything. They find something wrong in most everything. Where they go, what they eat, who they see. It's just their baseline.
Then there are overly optimistic, everything is magical and Disney can do no wrong. They post pictures of their magical Disney French fries and potato chips!
Thankfully, most of us fall in the middle somewhere. I think you need to expect there will be some blips and challenges and then bob and weave. Just go with the flow and make the best of it.
Sure, rotten things happen but chances are, they won't.

If you go just sure the crowds are going to mess you up, they certainly will. It's crowded there. It's Disney! If you can't handle crowds, this is NOT the vacation for you. You will feel like you wasted your money and your precious vacation. Save yourself the heartache and do something else.

A month ago, it was "slow" for sure...everyone was bragging about it here on the boards...we got there for the opening of F&W weekend (of course) and it was packed....who once said "timing is everything"? ;-)
