Just back from 9 days of 'vacation.'

The crowds were pretty much as stated on touringplans.com. The 5 and 6 days were crowded, but manageable and the 2 and 3 days were great. We didn't wait much more than 20-25 minutes for anything. Most attractions were walk on. We strategically used fastpasses whenever we could. Splash Mountain, Test Track, and Soarin' were about 20 minutes with a FP. One exception... can you guess? Toy Story Mania! We waited until it reopened and visited this past Monday, the 30th. Everything had no wait except TSM. The FP's were gone by 11:00! I used a GAD voucher. It was well worth it. We arrived at HS first thing in the morning. By the time I exchanged my voucher and made my way over to TS, the wait was 45 minutes. When we came off the ride it had jumped to 60 minutes. We were able to go on 4 times. It was a lot of fun, but not worth waiting 2 hours. The wait with a FP was 25 minutes.

If anyone is interested, the male lion is on the right outside of the Great Movie Ride. You have to tell the CM why, (the male is stepping on a ball and the female is stepping on her cub to protect it.) Too bad there was literally no line. We still got to use the special door to get to the front of the line.

Thanks for the great report. But, can you break down the crowd levels per park. In other words. on the day you were at MK the crowd level per Touring Plans was a X and the waits were X minutes long. When we were at HS the crowd level was a Y and the wait as Y minutes long etc.

I am going Dec 3-12 and it seems that most days are 1-3 with the odd 5 or 6 in there depending on the park. Looking for some real world experience at what this new per park crowd level means.

Thanks!

What is the male lion thing about??

Ok, I'd never heard of this before now. And we're leaving in 48 hrs for Disney.

Can someone who has access to touringplans let me know what they're saying for sunday and tuesday at the parks? Those are the two days we're going.

I'd be extremely grateful!!

Never heard about the lion thing. We are also leaving in less than 48 hours. Have a fun and safe trip

Sunday is a crowd level 6- best parks MK and Epcot, most crowded HS
Tuesday is a crowd level 3 - best parks HS and AK, most crowded Epcot

When did Sunday become a 6? I have the weekend as 3 and 4 days. Hope everybody did not decide to go last minute.

Outside of the door lies two large imperial guard lion statues, sometimes called Fu Dogs, that prevent evil from entering according to Taoist principles. When facing the theater, the lion on the left is the yin (female) and the lion on the right is the yang (male). Together the lions represent a balanced force. The male lion has his right paw on a globe, representing an awareness earth's pulsing energies. The female has a lion cub under her left paw, highlighting her need to protect. Symbolically, the male guards the building, while the female protects those inside

If you can tell the CM on duty which one is female and which one is male you can skip any line and take a special entrance to the front of the line...never done it but have read about it several times here

Ha, and of course tuesday is the day we're going to Epcot. No wiggle room on that one, my husband works in publishing and he works with Disney publishing. They got word that we were going down there this upcoming week and called to say they arranged for lunch with the Princesses in Norway for the kids! Unreal. That was a big surprise for us yesterday.

My 4 yr old is beside herself. So now we're definitely hitting Epcot tuesday. I'm just wondering if we skip MK on sunday and do it Monday, but worried it will be packed on Labor day.

Wow! You really do learn something new every day. Thanks for the interesting report. Will TSM mania ever die down? :sad2:
