Just back Coronado Springs

I want to make sure I understand about the bus pick-up and drop-off route. When we stayed there in 2003, we were in one of the Cabanas and we used the main bus-stop in front of the resort. It was the last picked up to go to the parks (but we never had a problem getting on) but it was the first one dropped off on return. Did I read correctly that the main bus-stop is now the last stop both times? If so, this will affect where I ask for a room when we check in for our Sept trip this year. Thanks! :)
For park buses it is last to be picked up. The order goes 2, 3, 4, and then 1. For DtD and Park exit buses, the order goes 1, 2, 3, and then 4.

Thanks, Buzz! So, I mis-understood the OP. If we can get into the Cabanas as I requested, we can use the front bus-stop and get on the bus last, and get off the bus first. With small kids, that is important! Thanks again! :goodvibes

I haven't been there since they change to the new GPS bus system but I'm pretty sure it is still the same.

I also loved CSR:thumbsup2 I had never chosen this resort before because I didn't think I would like the Southwest theme. In 2005 we had a/p and I decided to take my DS and DD on a last minute trip Dec 16-19. My DH couldn't go with us. The travel agent at DU was able to get a room at CSR on short notice. Of course we said yes we would stay there. It was so beautiful decorated for Christmas!! We loved it so much that we are staying there in August. My DH is going so he gets to see how beautiful it is. I have shown him pictures from BUZZ2001's site and he agrees that it looks wonderful.
Also, BUZZ2001, thanks for the info on the pool opening. I told my DD and DS, so I'm sure that is what we will do our first morning there:cool1:

We leave Wednesday! I can't wait. You've all made it sound so wonderful. Since last year was our first trip to Disney as a family, this year we had to go back to have a more relaxing trip. Sounds like we chose the right resort!
Have a great trip!!

I agree with others about the good bus service at CSR. We never waited very long going to or from a park. Also, the proximity of the stall to the gates at each park was a nice treat. CSR was well-landscaped. The pool was really nice (and close to our room in Rancho 7B). Our "only" problem was that we ran into some insanely incompetent issues with room keys. I posted teh details on another thread so I won't get into details here. This put a damper on our trip. I'd sooner stay at the Orlando YMCA than the CSR -but that's just me.

My one piece of advice to anyone staying at CSR: upon check-in be sure your KTTW cards 1) have arrows on them, and 2) include any park entry media you may have purchased. This may help you avoid a long series of problems.

Thanks for sharing!! We just returned Friday from POR and EXACTLY what you are saying about the buses was true there too!!!! It was just nuts the whole time we were there!!! If the walk hadn't been 20 minutes to get to POFQ, we would have gone over there and got on the bus first before it got to POR. The MK buses were plentiful, but the rest of them, well, we just waited and waited! When we finally did get a AK bus or an MGM bus, they were already full, and we were at the FIRST bus stop in POR!!!! We actually ended up taking a MK bus one morning so we could take the monorail to the TTC and then hop on the other monorail to get to Epcot. We are going to try CSR next year and will probably NEVER return to POR. Just had crummy luck there. :)

That's why I love SR so much more than POR/FQ. No shared transportation and the transportation at CSR is so much better.

This is my new favorite resort!! We just got back from a wonderful week at CSR a few weeks ago. It is truly a great place.

Just back from 6 nights at Coronado Springs. The resort is absolutely beautiful, peaceful and serene. It was a nice break after the parks, heat and crowds each day. The resort is large enough that you do not feel people are all up on you. Plenty of chairs at the pool. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and everything is green and lush. Check in was a breeze, room ready early. No rpoblems with cards, tickets for luau ready upon check-in no problems. We ate at Maya Grill one night, cancelled reservations elsewhere, were just too tired to do buses again and travel out of the resort. Dinner that night was absolutely great. The atmosphere was great, quite, beautiful view of the lake and food was excellent. Pepper market easy to use and CM's quite helpful in there.

Buses ran fine most of the week. We only encountered problems on two mornings. Two days we walked over to Pepper Market to get breakfast and then walked out to bus stop #1 at the main lobby. Big mistake, both days. This is the last stop each time for the buses. By the time the buses came to this stop they were already full. We learned both days to walk back around to one of the other bus stops in order to get on. Both days we were there early. One day we were there at 7:30 to catch a bus to Animal Kingdom. We waited 30 minutes, 2 buses went by both full and we finally walked around to bus stop #2 and got a seat. The couple in front of us were highly upset, been there over an hour, they said 3 buses went out full to AK and were talking to a CM that didn't seem to know who to call or what to do. We just walked around to another bus stop. The second day the same thing was happening to MGM buses. This was 7:15 am. A bus came around so full another person could not get in. We just immediatley walked to bus stop #2 and got the next bus. My suggestion would be during this very busy time of year, that if you do breakfast at the main lobby, walk around to another bus stop. They seem to have more than enough buses going to MK but every other park seemed to be really full by the time it got to the last bus stop. This only seemed to be a problem very early in the day when most people were leaving for the parks. This was to only problem we encountered all week and I loved CS. The internal shuttle service is more than happy to take you anywhere you want to go. Several people asked them to take them, to another bus stop and they were happy to do it.

We enjoyed our stay here and liked it so much better than CB. It is the nicest of the moderates and more serene than some of the deluxe resorts. We will definitely being staying there again. Thanks to Buzz and his site which played a huge role in my decision to stay there. Every single question and picture you could possibly want is on his site.

We're thinking of spliting our 3 week Disneymoon between CBR and CSR, would you recomend it :confused3

Great reviews. I'll be staying at CSR or the first time in August/Sept and I'm so excited. Now I"m just trying to figure out what building to request to be close to the food court, a pool and a bus stop...I'm picky. :cool2:

Here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building.

We're going in Sept and I requested the Casita's. It's close to dining and bus stop #2 which I understand is the first stop for busses going to the parks. This will be good for us as we have 2 kids under the age of 5 and will be taking our stroller. I don't want to have to stand on the ride. I'm very excited because this will be our first stay at a moderate, we usually only do values because of the prices.
