We are back from a trip to the BWV from Oct 13-20, 7 nights in a studio prefered pool/garden view for us and 7 nights in a studio standard view for my parents. We arrived via ME (which went very well) before 11 am on Sat morning, checked in but our room was not ready, as I expected. My parents arrived closer to 11:30 and also checked in and that room was also not ready (as expected!).

We went to ESPN for college football and called about the rooms at half time around 2pm and they were both ready.:cool1:  I was worried about room availabilty as we had Party for the Senses and the eat to the beat concert in Epcot, so we were delighted that it was ready early and we did not have to get ready in a public bathroom!

Our room was 3008 which was overlooking the Swan/Dolphin and canal, no pool. It was wonderfully quiet here, I had orginally thought I would not like
this view verses one of the two pool views, but we were very pleased. The walk was VERY long, but that was partially why it was so quiet.:woohoo:

We had a great week, spent lots of time at the pool, did PftS, MNSSHP, ate around the world, and more time than usual at AK. I now like this park much more than I have in the past, the new addition of the Nemo show and EE really helped! Which is great since we are staying at AKV in May!

We only had one issue in our room, maintence came quickly and fixed it (the tv cabinet).

The heat was overwhelming at times, but we made the most of napping in the afternoon to get out of the heat.

I will be happy to answer any questions!

Thanks for the report. We're leaving for the BWV on Saturday and I'm having trouble waiting. Our first time for Food & Wine Festival. :) :)

What did you think of PftS and MNSSHP?

What did you think of PftS and MNSSHP?

Last year was our first time at F&W...it was a blast! Really enjoyed the concerts too. I think the amount of alcohol I consumed contributed to the effect/affect....but it was good time. I also like the small portions served at each country during F&W. We didn't over eat like we usually do.

I LOVED PftS, it was an amazing event. Our party did not seem too crowded, the food and wine was incredible. We would definetly return even at the high prices. The only thing was, after the party, I was not very interested in doing any free wine tastings and only partially interested in doing the food/wine booths, which we did on the following Friday.

This was not our first MNSSHP, we always love the Holloween and Christmas party and this year did not disapoint. The candy was great (we did not start trying to get candy til after 10) and we did not wait more than 10 min for any ride. We rode almost every ride open (exceptions were: Stitch, Small World, and Splash Mt). We left after the last show on the stage (I think it was around 11:30pm)

How were the crowds -- at the parks, MNSSHP and at the pool?

I do think it was more crowded than I expected. Epcot WS was PACKED as we made our way to the EttB concert (Starship) and MGM EMH evening the lines for RnRC and ToT were too long (over an hour each) and I passed them up. DH went to MGM one morning for rope drop and rode both while I slept in :thumbsup2 We went to MK one morning arriving around 11am and the only ride we rode was HM, the park was PACKED, and we headed out.

MNSSHP crowds were great, I do not remember waiting over 10 min for anything. We did get most of tomorrowland done from 6 to 7pm, so I think that helped. We also did not try to get any candy while the candy lines were long, instead waited til around 10 pm, went thru 3 candy lines and ended up with 1/2 full bags filled with great candy (plenty of chocolate!)

Pool was also great, never any crowds, but I mostly went in AM (8-11am) and once in evening (after 8pm, Illuminations went off while I was swimming)

I forgot to mention our Eat to the Beat concerts, we saw Starship on Sat as part of our PftS and they were FANTASTIC! I could not believe how great they were. Then on Fri night we saw Juice Newton, who was also great, this was her first time doing a concert at Disney, she is a great addition, I hope they get her to come for Flower Power concerts too!:hippie:

Can you tell me what kind of coffee makers are in the rooms?
Have a 2bdrm SV and stuido booked in 17 days,(not that I'm counting ;) ) travelling with 3 coffeeholics, who will bring their own coffee, but will probably exhaust their supply of filters in a day!!:rolleyes1 so need to know which type to pack.

Thanks

Thanks for the report! It's too late for this year, but I'm someone on the fence for PotS for next year. I admit, I look at the price, and it makes me shy away, but I read reports like yours, then I want to go TOO!

How was Starship part of the PotS? Special seating at the theater?

Add me to the list of hopefuls to see Juice Newton at the Flower Power Concerts someday:hippie:
