Just got back from BWV. It was DW, DS31, DD25 and myself. We were in a 2BR unit right on the boardwalk. When I say that I mean that. It was on the first floor with nothing separating us from the boardwalk except for about 10 feet of plants. We had a very large patio. Our unit was what used to be part of the BWV DVC sales center. In fact, I think our unit was where we received our initial sales presentation.

What can I say about last week - it was hot and crowded but we still had a great time. This was first time DS had been to WDW in probably 10 years or so and there was alot of new stuff for him to see. He loved Animal Kingdom. We got to see and do most of what we wanted but was disappointed our Fantasmic show was cancelled right at the last minute because of possible storms (which never happened). This was especially disappointing since we had done the Fantasmic Dinner Package at Hollywood and Vine. It was a good meal, but we wouldn't have done it if it wasn't for Fantasmic. There was a lot of booing and disappointed people when they cancelled the show.

The only other strange thing was that on Thursday morning in the AK parking lot there was a WDW bus that had been rammed into a light pole. The front of the bus was a mangled mess. It was strange, the pole was just out in the middle of an empty parking lot. No other cars around or nothing. Just this bus with the front end rammed up into the light pole. I can't imagine how this happened.

Food wise we ate at Boma, China, Morrocco, Le Cellier, Hollywood Vine, Wolfgangs, ESPN, Earl of Sandwich plus others I can't remember. They were all very good but our favorites were China and Morrocco.

Well that's about it. I'm glad we had the chance to go down with DS and DD. We all had a great time. This will be our last time probably as a group for a while. DW and myself are both now retired and will be doing our own thing from now on. DD starts teaching fourth grade next month, so will be tied to summer vacations only. Next DVC trips are a week at HHI next June and a week at OKW September.

Glad you had a nice trip! Too bad about Fantasmic - how disappointing. How did your family like being right on the Boardwalk?

Being right on Boardwalk was okay, but frankly I would have preferred being one floor up with a balcony instead of a patio. I just don't like ground floor rooms. We had lizards on the patio and I was concerned about one getting into the unit. Plus the morning sun was really bright at that location. I like going out and sitting on my balcony while drinking my morning coffee but the sun was typically too bright and hot to do that last week. Looking back on it now, I preferred our location last year overlooking the pool.

Got to be careful and watchful with those magical light poles. They just seem to pop out of nowhere.

I wonder if they have the same policy as with the big ferry boats. One accident and you are fired. Was talking with a small boat operator. She was telling me about one of the guys who transferred to the big boat. As he was docking a big gust of wind blew the boat into the dock. He got fired on the spot!!!

thanks for the report!!
That 1st floor BW room is the room I've requested twice now,
but haven't gotten it yet. Congrats and I'm glad you had a great trip :)

We were also there last week Wolfpack and also right on the Boardwalk. But we were on the fourth floor. We loved our view, however we had the long hallway walk as were were 4001, the last room possible! But the view totally made up for it. Plus since we were on the dining plan all those extra steps were much needed!!!!!!! We had a wonderful view of Illuminations fireworks every night. :) It was very relaxing to sit and watch the boats and people moving about.

We're going back in Feb. and already are planning what we'd like to see, do and eat!!!

Glad to hear you had a nice family trip.

Funny - we too were there last week BW view room - when we checked in we were given the choice of that 4th floor room or a second floor room - obviously we took the second floor one - guess we got there just before you did! We also got canceled out on that same Fantasmic night - it was such a bummer!!!

We arrive at BWV on Tuesday for our first ever Boardwalk view stay! It's a 2 bedroom also, and I'll be thrilled with any of the rooms mentioned! We are so excited!

That's funny. We were basically right under you four floors down. I know what you mean about the hallway. We were lucky though, the
"back door" was right down the hallways from us. So quite often we'd go out it and either walk the walkway to MGM or walk across the bridge and catch the boat at Swan/Dolphin. Also, it was shorter to catch the bus at Swan rather than the BWV buses.

I know they are trying to put safety first, but it sure was disappointing. I wouldn't have been as bothered if we hadn't done the Fantasmic Dinner Package. We would not have had that big and expensive meal except for Fantasmic. We had eaten the night before at Boma and really didn't need or want the buffet at Hollywood and Vine. But decided to go ahead and do it to get the special seating.

Exactly for us as well - we ate at Mama Melrose...and we ate at California Grill the night before...
