I swore I would NEVER go in the summer but I have to report back that we had an AMAZING and magical time. It was hot (of course!) but totally doable if you plan FP right and take breaks. Get shade when you can and take afternoon breaks at pool or air conditioned attractions. My kids are 10 and 7 and they did so awesome. I was super proud. So many people complain about summer and say NEVER (I did!) but I am happy to report that it was totally successful AND I would do it again!
As far as any info - We loved the new Frozen ride...I have read a lot about people not thinking it was all that great. I thought it was adorable and really well done. We also loved the new Soarin. Did seem a little shorter maybe but still in all really cool. Photopass, which we purchases ahead of time, was awesome. We got a ton of great photos and photographers were everywhere with little to no lines.

Happy planning everyone!

We always go in summer and we love it....you just get used to it and/or suck it up. I'd rather be hot and uncomfortable at Disney than cool and comfy at home! Glad that you guys had a great time....we're there in exactly one week...:thumbsup2

Our first summer trip starts in two days! (we've been late Sept people) Loving that you really enjoyed your trip! Gives us Hope. :) :D

Glad you enjoyed your trip!! We prefer to go in April, but if we can't do that, we do July or August (doing August next year). We have always had a great time even with the heat - as long as we take breaks mid day and keep hydrated, it's all good! :)

How great! We're arriving Thursday! We went in June several years ago, and I believe I also uttered the "never again in summer" phrase...but here we are! I'm really looking forward to photopass, also. Thanks for your post! :cheer2:

We did a summer trip last year and had such a wonderful time! We leave Thursday for 10 nights can't wait.

We go in fall because we are old and lazy plus love free dining. Your report definitely makes us happy. It's nice to hear a good trip report.

We're going for our 6th summer trip in a row in a couple weeks, Glad to hear you enjoyed it more than you thought you would! Summer gets a bad rap but if you do it right it's really not that bad :) definitely more manageable crowds when we go every year!

I always said the same thing and thought people were nuts for going that time of year. Well that all changed after we went last June (couldn't pass up the offer). I LOVE Florida and Disney in the summer!

lol...don't get me wrong, I love our dis trips, but I'm looking forward to the day when I don't have to in the summer. Once kids are done with school and wife is retired, I am soon hitting an off-season time (and yes, I know there is no true off-season any more).

But that said....I leave tonight for 12 days and I got nothing but pixie dust flowing right now!!

glad you enjoyed your trip!!

Thanks for posting! So glad you had a great time! I'm already super excited for our summer trip in two weeks and I think your post made me even more excited if that is possible!!

Good to hear! I went once in July and said never again! Maybe I will reconsider in the future :)

My DD and I have been doing the last 1-2 weeks of August when we go since
she entered middle school & couldn't miss classes & I use every DVC point & wait for the 'lower' season pricing which doesn't kick in until mid Aug.

We're from the NW so the warm weather makes it feel like we've experienced some summer. We like the lower crowd levels & the t storms are also a novelty for us.

We're heading back in Feb for the Princess Half Marathon & that will be a new experience for us.

We leave in about ten days and all it is saying is rain, 90%, 100%, 5 mm, 10-15 mm with 2 hrs of sun. Is our vacation doomed?

I'm so happy to see you post this! We will be there late next week and we've never done summer, but with older school kids, have had to adjust so they don't miss school. I know someone there right now and she actually said the weather is just a bit cooler than it is where we live, so I should be getting a bit of a reprieve. hahaha. Last time we went we were in coats, so this will totally be different, but we're going in knowing that and determined to have fun no matter the weather/crowds!

Weather changes like crazy for WDW. Rain one minute, none the next. No worries.

We always go in summer too just because of school schedules. We love the summer and like you said it's very manageable if you plan your days right and take advantage of AC and manage hydration. Glad you had a great time op!
