Just got back from Disney. We used SWA and ME.

SWA: I am still very happy with SWA in the five years we have been using them for our Disney trips. Friendly service, incredibly user friendly site, easy to deal with at airport, on time flights (and sometimes early), and just all around great service.

ME: This might be the fifth time we used ME. I was a little put off that this year and last year I had to call for my luggage tags when they didn't show up, but other than that, I was, once again, very pleased with the service. No long waits for our bus, no long waits for our luggage, and friendly courteous priofessional drivers. We will happily continue to use ME as long as it remains "free."

Thanks!

I am glad you had such a positive experience with SWA and DME. We arrive at WDW on Sept. 19th (18 days from today) and still have not received our luggage tags. I called DME today and apparantly they did not have our flight information in their system. I don't understand this because I called and gave them our flight info almost a month ago. Grrrrr. Hopefully this will be the only glitch in our vacation plans.

Glad everything worked out well for you.

I'm happy to read that people are having positive experiences with SWA. We are looking to use SWA for the first time next summer and I've been paranoid about no assigned seats. But I've been only reading positive things! Hopefully Disney will open up Resort Airline Check-in to Southwest too!

Same thing happened to us. Two years in a row, we supplied all our flight info to Disney. Two years in a row, our luggage tags didn't arrive. I had to call Disney each time. The first time, they took care of it and the tags arrived soon after. The second time it happened (last month), Disney said they have the flight info and to call ME and find out why we didn't get our tags. We call ME. ME says Disney never gave them the info. ME takes the info and sends us our tags in time. But they only sent us one tag per person. They used to send two tags per person. I guess this is a new policy. Wish they would have told us. Everything did turn out ok, as per my report, but you have to stay on them (Disney and ME) in order to have a "magical experience." ;) Good luck and have fun!

We love the no assigned seats aspect of SWA. Apparently it makes for more on time flights and less delays. They sure have improved the system too, by using the number system. This way, you don't have to sit on the floor in line, like you used to. I sure don't miss that.

Oh, and I hear Pop Century now has Resort Airline Check-in to Southwest! I sure hope this goes through to the other resorts.

Good luck with your trip!

Gosh, I can't believe I forgot to include Disney transportation in my transpo report.

We stayed at Bay Lake Tower, so we used Contemporary transportation.

Monorail: We did not experience the numerous delays and stops we had a few years ago. It has improved that way, imo. It is still a mess trying to get on the monorail at park closings, but that's to be expected. Overall, I was pleased with the monorail. Gary at the TTC Epcot monorail station is a hoot. :)

Buses: We were pretty satisfied with the bus service. No extreme waits. We did experience the usual crowded buses and standing room only a few times, but nothing that stood out. One driver was a little rude and another driver was VERY rude, but we had one outstanding bus driver who turned those other two into distant memories. I am wondering if his name was Dave. Can't remember. He drove us to AK one morning. He was just wonderful. He pointed out the Hidden Mickey bus, which I did not even know existed. He really loved his job. He made the trip to AK magical. I'll see if the kids remember his name so I can email Disney about him. He had a great sense of humor.

We did not use the boats this trip, so can't review them.

You never know what kinds of problems you will encounter with the buses at Disney, but I still think they do a pretty good job moving the masses. :)
