Just Back AS Sports and no kids!

Hi CDNs, just back from 6 days. Weather was hot 90-100 and humid. Parks empty. 1st trip in 9yrs witout the kids. What a difference in they way you do the world! Haunted Mansion was closed . Will re-open on Monday this week. Lots of resorts and attractions having some type of refurb. Did the Keys to the Kingdom tour! Any Disney nuts should do this. Did the AP trivia challenge. Did a DVC tour and also toured most resorts. Saw parades and basically opened and closed the parks each day. Not hard to do with the short hours in September. spent more money on gifts this time, guilt set in! Happy to get home to see the kids but still miss WDW! Can't wait to go back with the kids.

Welcome back Michelle! Glad to hear you had a good time. Dh and I are hoping to get away next March for another trip without kids. We did that in November 2000 and what a difference! Will you be able to come to the DIS meet on Sept. 29, to tell us more and show us pics?

Hi everyone! Thanks for the welcome back. Sorry I didn't post much prior to the trip but life was a bit crazy! I hope to make the 29th. It all depends on work and family but I will let you know SandraC! The AP trivia challenge is type of trivia game/scavenger hunt in the Magic Kingdon. If you are an Annual pass holder go to the Exposition hall on main st. (where the kodak display is beside Tony's) and go to the front cash and ask for the trivia challenge. They will ask to see your AP. The quiz is 100 questions about things in the MK. There is a thread in the Theme Parks forum that lists the questions. So I did some research before we went. I looked through 3 trips worth of videos and pictures as well as going through old guide books and many websites. I had about 60% of the answers before we arrived. Thank goodness as it took me 2 full days in Mk to get the rest! You hand it in and get a prize, an 8 x10 photo of you and your group on one of the backdrops that you choose. Lots of fun to do and boy do you learn to look at details. Not something I could have completed with the kids along as they would have been yelling at me to get goint to the next ride!
Our favourite meal was a tie between California Grill and Artist Point. Also did Cape May cafe clam bake. It was good but not something I would put on the list for next time. I will post a trip report.
