Hello everyone,
We just returned from 5 fun-filled days at the 4 major parks (we didn't do any waterparks). Our first day was last Sunday, 2/22 and our last day in the parks was Thursday, 2/27. MK was crowded Sunday and by mid-day on Thursday (both EMH days for MK). But everything was manageable by using EMH and FP. We did all of the major attractions except Kali River Rapids (it was a little too chilly for us!). Including:
MK- Splash MTN, Space MTN, BTMRR, HM, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Hall of PRes., Mickey's Philharmagic, Country Bear, Small World, PP Flight, Buzz Lightyear, TTA, and my sentimental favorite Carousel of Progress which I have not done since 1973!!
EPCOT - MS, TT, Land, Living Seas, Un. of Energy, Shrunk Audience, Maelstrom, and all movies at World Showcase. Wonders of Life was closed!
MGM - ToT, RR, Great Movie Ride, Indy Jones, Star Tours, Muppets, Disney: One Man's Dream (Highly Recommended!!), Backlot was closed. We already did Fantasmic, Beauty/Beast, and Mermaid on previous trip and didn't want on this one!
AK- Safaris, Dinosaur, Rafiki's Cons. Station, Lion King Show, Tough to be a Bug.
Our longest wait for Stand-by was 20 minutes! Following the suggested tour plans in Unofficial Guide and on the Passporter really works.
One note on EMH: Some advertised rides were NOT opened or had delays. Notably AK - Safaris had a delay so we got a FP for later and went to Dinosaur which wasn't opened until 8:45. So then we went to Tough to be a Bug. Then walked on Dino and then back to Safari. All were done by 9:30! At Epcot, we went straight to TT, but it was closed due to rain. Apparently it doesn't operate when it rains, so then we got a FP for later and went on MS first. It was great. Just follow the directions of keeping eye open and looking straight ahead and you'll do fine! My 8-year-old went on it twice. Once was enough for me!
This was our 3rd trip in 6 years with our kids and since they are older now we did NOT do any character breakfasts or get character autographs, etc. We took a few photos with characters if the line happened to be short.
Anyway, I'll be happy to answer any questions if anyone has any.
(By the way, the Mickey Statues were there on Sunday and Tuesday -- we went for SpectroMagic Tuesday evening but it was cancelled due to rain. When we went back to MK for EMH on Thursday they were gone, although the brochures in the hotels & at MK said they would be there until 4/30/04! I asked a CM at the gate and was told that they were packed up Tuesday night and were being sent to the Disney shareholder meeting next --now this-- week! I guess Eisner is trying to do everything he can to hold on, eh??)
