We are just back from 8 wonderful nights at the YC!! We had a WV room with the FTP, and were given a beautiful view of the lighthouse and Boardwalk, room 3175. The redecorated rooms were beautiful, and the service was great. Our weather was super: sunny, 90, and only a few scattered showers here or there.

Despite all of the disers who were there, I didn't see any green ribbons! Where were you guys???

I'll do a dining review on the other board, but we ate at the RFC (DTD), Dolphin Fountain, Garden Grill, 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey, Le Cellier, Spoodles, aand Cape May Buffet for dinner.

We had breakfast at Tusker House, ABC Commissary, Main Street Bakery, and the Electric Umbrella.
We also had snacks or dessert at the ESPN Club, Gasparilla Grill, Roaring Forks, Dolphin Fountain and Cheesecake Factory.

I'll be happy to answer any questions!:teeth:

How were the crowds in the parks? How were the lines for Fantasmic?

Welcome back, Cindala! Glad you had a good trip. Have a couple of questions for you...

Did you notice what time Stormalong Bay closed?

Did you notice if Hurricane Hannahs closed up earlier than the pool?

Did you notice park shops closing up before the park closed? Specifically Main Street shops or Studio shops?

How was the bus transportation if you took the resort buses?

My clock is ticking down and getting very excited!

Sharon

Sounds wonderful! I am staying at the YC one month from today! Was your room quiet? Is the 3rd floor the top floor? Do all rooms at the YC have balconies?

I've only stayed at the BC before and am VERY EXCITED about the YC experience!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Cindala, welcome back! Looks like you had a great time. We'll be doing the YC concierge 11/30 thru 12/7...first time staying there, can't wait!

A few questions:
1) Don't know if you have kids. If so, did you use the Sandcastle Club? If yes, how was it?

2) EE days...too crowded first thing or worth getting in early for?

3) Your impression of Playhouse Disney...is it as good as the guide books say?

4) Anything new that you weren't expecting?

Thanks!!!

WA

Glad to hear you had a great trip!!

just some quick things for those of you who asked questions...

Alice...The YC has 5 floors..with the 5th reserved for con...and yes all rooms have balconies/patios...

WA...I'm a big fan of this show...you're kids will have a blast...be sure to get in line early...and don't worry about the kids being bored...they have TVs with playhouse disney...very cute...try not to sit to close to the stage...as the kids won't be able to see above the rised stage...the kids can dance, sing, and laugh...it's definatley a great show...haven't read the books...but it surpassed all my expectations....

I too am intrested in SAB and HH's...the closing times would be good to know...
as well as EE...and the Main Street shops...

Hi there ~ welcome home.

How was the lounge chair situation? was there a problem with saved chairs and were they checking wristbands?

Looking forward to hearing more on your meal review.. thanx!

Storm Along Bay was open until 10PM, or 11PM. We didn't do night swimming, but it was open late.

Hurricane Hannah's does close up earlier, so you can get take out orders at Beaches and Cream.

The stores on Main Street in MK and the main drag in MGM were open the latest. (Till park closing or later.) All the other stores in more remote areas closed up by park closing, including the little carts. Future World in Epcot closed at 6pm except for Test Track, SpaceShip Earth and Mission Space, which DH rode twice. Mousegears was open, but the little stands also closed earlier.

We took the bus to MK and AK. The bus to AK stops at Blizzard Beach first, then AK and it wasn't crowded. We did EE at MK on aThursday, and they had 3 buses in a row for MK because there were so many people waiting at the YC, and some of the buses had been filled at the Swan/Dolphin. With this new bus on demand system, I heard the bus drivers calling in that more buses were needed. At MK, before the bus driver dropped us off, he checks with a transportation vehicle to see where he is needed next. It all worked out fine.

We had a wonderful time, and I just can't believe we are back already!

1) Our DD's are teens, so we didn't use the Sandcastle Club.
2) We did MK EE, and we were able to accomplish alot. However, it does get more crowded as the day goes on, so go in early, get as much as you can done, and leave by noon.
3)Didn't see it.
4) DH was thrilled to be able to test out Mission Space in Epcot. He said it was phenominal!!!

AHHH, the lounge chair situation! The lifeguards made regular rounds pulling the white towels off of unoccupied chairs. Certain areas always seemed to have available chairs, while those closer to B&C and the slide were filled. Wristbands were checked regularly, and no one was admitted without a resort card.

DH either left the parks a little earlier than us, or didn't go in the morning, so he was always able to get chairs. Don't wait until 2pm or you won't find anything. At night you have your pick of chairs.

I'm so glad that you had such a wonderful stay at Yacht Club. We'll be staying there next month. I am really looking forward to it!:D

Cindala - Here's a silly general question about the Yacht Club. I can never tell by photos. Are the balcony doors sliders or swingers? Thanks.

Disneyolic,
The balcony doors are sliders. :teeth:

I also just wanted to mention that we never faxed the room controller with our room requests. We just left it as it was on the the reservation. We had a continuing reservation as our first night was an AP rate, then the FTP began.

We requested non smoking, 3rd or 4th floor, maximum bedding, and a view of the gazebo. We never requested the full front water view which we received.

The YC aims to please!!!:teeth:

Kim,
We had a great trip, and it worked out ok with DD's BF. We all joined the health club for the length of stay, and so we had access to more showers and bathrooms if we needed them. Everyone cooperated.

You are going CAMPING?! Wow are you full of surprizes!! Are you using a tent or a trailer, and are any extended family members also going? I know how you were all trying to decide what to do!

Welcome home, cindala! Glad you had a great time at the YC!

How was the 4th? What did you do that day?

Thanks!

Cali,
We went to Epcot for the 4th. The park was open until 10pm (including Future World which now closes at 6pm otherwise). There were extended Illuminations with a tribute to the US Armed Forces. It was a great show!

We ate breakfast at the Electric Umbrella and had dinner at the Garden Grill. We took a pool break at SAB in the afternoon too. DH got a chance to ride Mission Space, and he absolutely loved the ride! We also went to WL in the evening for a snack at Roaring Forks.

Epcot was crowded, but not unbearable like MK would have been!
