1. Badge holders. Despite having 8 children and 4 absent minded adults, we had no lost tickets or room keys! Well worth the 98 cents at Wal Mart.

2. Glow sticks. Originally I had gotten them for the dark rides for my four year olds, but we used them at MVMCP to keep track of everyone. We were easy to spot in a crowd (we slipped them on our badge holders with lanyards)

3. Stroller and wheelchair. Actually we brought our Burley which is a bike trailer and stroller. Designed for two, it held one and a bunch of cargo (jackets, water, snacks) Wheelchair kept Grandma moving and it meant she always had a seat!

4. Basket by the door for everyone to deposit their "must take to Disney" items.

5. We loved our Pal Mickey. His jokes kept us entertained. Of course he was slight annoyed with us when we went to Universal without him.

6. Blister balm from Avon. No one got blisters! (of course even the ones who didn't use the blister balm didn't get blisters, but I think just cuz I got it was why no one had blisters.) :D

I had gotten the Brita bottles, but everyone thought the water from them tasted funny, so we had bottled water which was relatively cheap from the wal mart down there.

Without this web site, our trip would not have been as wonderful as it was. Thank you all for all your help!!

I would have never thought of the glowsticks but the idea is fantastic. My DD is 5 and still gets just a little nervous walking into dark rides. The glow sticks will be just the right amount of light to take the edge of her nervousness without being to distracting to others. Great tip. I'll be picking some up for our next trip.

I also agree with the Brita taste. We did not like it. We opted for bottled water as well. When we did use them we added crystal light.

Thanks for the great info. princess:

I had all colors of glow sticks and the green glow the brightest. I could read my watch or the map with it.

Where do you buy glowsticks? Thanks!!

Sometimes Dollar Tree has the sticks. I got mine at Big Lots when they had Halloween stuff. I've also seen them in the sportings good dept at Walmart. They cost a little more, are larger than the others, but I'm not sure if they come with a place to string them and wear them.

Another tip is to hang all your 'glowy' things around your resort room after your day at the park. They help you see around the room at night, and they usually last 36-48 hours. I've even had some of the cheap ones from Dollar Tree last 5 days!

We found the best deal on glow sticks at the Dollar Tree. They come 6 in a pack for $1.00.

Most party supply places have them as well. I put them in the goody bags for my son's b'day party. It was just a few weeks before Halloween. The parents loved the idea. I just never thought to use them at WDW before. princess:

One of my most useful things is night lights. I don't like waking up in a dark room, and hotel room lights are all too bright.

We us ethe glow sticks in the parks and then as night lights. Works great!!

Another tip for dark rides is to get your little one one of the small keychain squeeze lights. My DS used this when he was little and he could shine it (at his feet so he didn't disturb others) whenever he needed.

At the dollars stores here in canada we have glow stick head bands that have two ears attached that look like mickey. Not sure where they are sold but well worth the dollar to keep track of each other.

What do the badge holders look like at Wal-Mart and what department are they in?
I found 18 inch glow sticks at the dollar store- are these too small? What sixe do you recommend??
Thank you!!

I was at Dollar Tree today and they didn't have glow sticks - had to buy those at Target in the camping section. Dollar Tree did have disposable rain ponchos - 2 per pack - for $1. I saw lots of nightlights there but didn't get any. I couldn't find any sort of plastic organizer for the toiletries, either. Target had plastic shoe organizers but they were kind of big and heavy.

Our Target has a "dollar days" section. I just loaded up on 2 packs of glow sticks and rings that flash all for a $1.00 each. These are already put away for our june trip. They also have 16 oz unbreakable water bottles for a dollar in blue, purple, green, black, yellow and hot pink. They have wide mouths for filling easily with ice. I know out of staters will insist on Brita bottles (I also have several) but those of us in FLA and who are used to the water may like this deal. :D

Check ebay for glow sticks too. I got a can (50 or 100) for our trip last spring. It also comes with connectors for making bracelets and necklace. I still have plenty left over for our next trip.
