What a great ride, the wait times were horrific, but I got a fass pass as soon as I got in the park, so when my timeframe came up I only had a 5 to 10 minute wait. I got a second fast pass later in the afternoon with a return time of 5:45 to 6:45, that worked out fine for me because I took a break around 2:00 and then came back at 5:00.
I was nervous because I do get motion sickness, I took some dramamine in the morning just to be on the safe side.
I sat in the front row, both times I rode it, and it was wonderful.....both times after the ride, everyone clapped and cheered.
Everyone should go on this ride at least once! I'm looking foward to going on again when we go back in December.

I am glad you had a great time on Sorin'. I could not agree with you more about this ride. This is truely the best ride that Disney has come up with that just about the entire family can enjoy.

I cannot rave enough about this ride!! Highly recommend FP on this one..
As soon as we got in the park, we hightailed it over there..our ride time was 11:15..and when we came to ride, they were already issuing for early evening..and the line wait was 2 HOURS!
DH had to look sideways a few times to keep grounded about where he was it was so real..all of us loved it though..a MUST see! I truly believe this was the ride that gave DH the bug...:teeth:
Now he's already talking about when we go back! :rotfl:

it is indeed a wonderful attraction. We can't think of another attraction where the guests clap and cheer when it's over. the front row is definitely the best spot. We rode ie 3 times on our trip a couple of weeks ago.

We arrived around 11am on Sun. Morning and had about a 30 minute wait in the standby line. We grabbed fast passes at the same time with an afternoon return. (around 1:30). After we rode the second time, we got fast passes again for an 8-9pm return which worked out perfectly since we then went back to the resort for a swim and dinner and returned later that evening for Illuminations. Between our first and second rides, we rode Test Track, single rider, Living Seas including Turtle Talk, and Journey into your Imagination and had ice cream. :)

This was our most productive day on our visit.

I have to admit the first time I went on Soarin, I was terrified! I kept my eyes closed and held on so tight that I must have looked ridiculas to anyone who may have looked over at me. I kept feeling that I would fall out of my seat, and I am one who rides the RockNRollercoaster and space mtn, Mission space without any problem.

I think I was unaware of just how afraid of heights I really am.

Anyway, after it was over (thank goodness!) I told my DD that I needed to do it again to break my fears of this ride. after I did it again (3 more times) I have to admit it is now my favorite ride at WDW next to the RNRollercoaster. I love it and can't wait to ride again this Oct. this time eyes open, not holding on, and toes pointing up. :sunny:

Dh, DS9, DD6 and myself were all blown away. We could not stop exclaiming over it. It was the last ride we did before we left Disney two days ago and there could not have been a better ending to our wonderful vacation.

I also agree that Soarin' is really amazing. I found myself picking up my feet so they wouldn't get wet in the water or hit the top of the trees!
Anyone who is planning of Soarin' MUST get there early in the day. I understand that Fast Passes run out early in the afternoon.

How long is the ride? I ask, b/c both my DW and I would like to ride it. We have a DD4 who would most likely join us (another question below), but also a DS1 who would not. So I was thinking if we got fastpasses at the same time, could my DW and DD ride the ride and then when they get out, let me ride and still be within the timeframe of our fastpass? I can't remember are the fast pass timeframes in 15 or 30 minutes ?

Okay next question, would Soarin' be okay for a 4 yr old? She meets the height requirements and loves most rides. She loves when rides make it...as she says, "tickly in her tummy" :goodvibes But when they go too fast, she gets a little scared. Example: Barnstormer=yes, POTC=yes, BTMR=tentative. Does this one seem tame enough for your average 4 yr old?

I can't wait to ride it though. It looks and sounds great from all these comments.

I am not a roller coaster person at all. Too scared. Is Soarin really high? Do you feel like you're going to fall down? Or is it okay for nervous nellys like me?? :)

The ride is over very quickly, I think it only lasted 5 to 10 minutes tops. I had made a note that I was seated on Soarin at 6:55 and then was over at Spaceship Earth by 7:10.

Okay next question, would Soarin' be okay for a 4 yr old? She meets the height requirements and loves most rides. I think the ride is appropriate for any age, if they meet the height requirements but are not a certain height, there is an extra strap that goes between the legs that you put the seat belt through for extra protection.

Fast passes are for an hour timeframe

Soarin' is a very smooth slow ride. I hate drops and coasters (Pirates even makes me a little nervous). Soaring is nothing. If you hate heights, it might make you a little uneasy - but the bottom row (the back row as you sit) is only maybe 10' feet off the ground.

One hint - if you are wearing flip flops, leave them on the floor before you take off. When you land, they'll be right there waiting for you.

A little uneasy? the first time I went on it, I thought I was going to pass out! I agree everyone should try it, but my first experience was pure terror. I do believe it was due to the fact of the seats moving (a little bit) and tilting downward as we flew and the wind didn't help matters much either. I knew I was seat belted in, but still felt like I could fall out, and I was in the back row.
I'm glad I mustered up enough courage to ride it again though because now, I love the ride. btw, I'm 44 yrs old and again, love the coasters, but will NEVER ride TOT. no how, no way! I guess I am just too afraid of heights, but I do travel by plane without freaking out. much. :sunny:

Soarin' is fantastic! We rode it for the first time at Disney's California Adventure in October. We could not wait for it to open at WDW. During our April trip, they were testing the ride out. We did not get on a test run :sad2: In June, we could not get enough of it!

It is the easiest ride I have ever been on. Almost like being pulled through the air on a swing. I never felt as though I was going to fall out of my seat. I felt like I was flying. Wow just thinking of it gives me chills! :lovestruc

OK now don't jump all over me about this but my 16 year old daughter and I thought it was an OK ride and we will definately do it again but we really don't understand why everyone raves about it.

If I had had to wait longer then 10 minutes to get on the ride the four times we road it this past June I would not have bothered. It is a good ride and worth standing in line to see as long as it isn't a very long line/wait.

My wife and I waited 60 minutes in line to go on this ride and I must say that it is now our favorite ride. Different strokes for different folks some may not like it but we loved it. It is so gentle and well done that it amazes me. I wish it were a little longer but other than that no complaints.
