Just back and a few notes on menus

Just back from a wonderful trip! Here are some of the changes we noticed from our visit earlier in the year:

1. LTT no longer serves sweet iced tea.
2. GG now serves sweet iced tea.
3. GG has changed the au gratin potatoes to mashed potatoes with watercress. Don't worry about the watercress it tastes just like all the other WDW mashed potatoes around....!
4. GG - they were testing the Living with the Land audio on the boats while we were there. Even with the noise in GG, and characters, it was still loud to me - sometimes annoying, unlike the old system.
5. PTC has replaced the green beans that come with the fried chicken to "southern greens".

That's all I can remember right now - just minor things but I thought I'd post them.

They eat a lot of this in the south lol..I have never eaten it, we have people driving through that stop at the restaraunt and ask for
1. Sweet Tea
2. Grits
3. Greens

I always tell them you are not south enough..

Excellent!!!! It's about time!!!

They were serving the greens when we were there in June. They are so much better then those nasty green beans! There was a whole thread here of folks that never heard of greens before!

Heaven forbid!

I would assume "Southern greens" is simply shorthand for a mix of collard greens (which are too mild to be eaten alone) and mustard greens (which some find too "spicy" to be eaten alone).

I know our 3 ds loved the au gratin potatoes at gg and they dont care for mashed potatoes, I think they will be disappointed.

We weree served the new greens at Primetime on our trip in aug. They were cold and not very good.

Waiter brought us extra potatoes when I told him we didn't care for the greens.

A bit of advice for those who don't want to eat your greens. It might not be wise to cover your greens with your chicken bones in an attempt to hide the fact that you didn't eat them. Unless, of course, you don't mind providing some humor for the rest of the restaurant.

I don't mind at all, of course, and was made an example of to my fellow patrons.

The best part was when my dessert was brought out to me.... A bowl of greens with some whipped cream on top!

Gross-- seems more people would be more likely to eat green beans than southern greens. Why'd they do THAT?

Just so everyone knows you can ask for corn to replace any vegetable. My mom always gets the corn.

I'm one Yankee that loves Southern food. I could make a meal on Greens with Biscuits and Gravy! Yum!
