Hi everyone!

Well, we're back! It was GREAT (except for the dumb weather  I came to FL to ESCAPE the cold  ) but still, it was just so fun! We are OBSESSED with the Adventurers Club!!

My dining & trip reports will be up soon!

But first, since we are already talking about going back for a quick 4 day 3 night visit in December, can anyone answer a few quick questions?

1. If I stay 3 nights/4 days (arriving Thurs evening and leaving Sunday evening ) will the UPH pass be good only on 3 days? Or would I be able to use it on arrival AND departure day as well?

2.How much do you need to put down if booking a trip directly through Disney?

3.What is DVC? Is it worth it? What sort of discounts do you get? Is it worth it for people who don'y like water parks, spas, golf or sports?

4. How far in advance does one need to book the package for that time to get the price online?

We are thinking of a quick trip Thursday night 12/2 coming back to Boston on 12/5. According to Disney.com this should run about $770 for 2 adults staying at POP Century with UPH tickets.

Any advice??

Thanks so much!!!!

No problem :) Thanks!!! Oh it was amazing!!

My boyfriend LOVED IT. We went to Disney with a 5 day PH Pass and ended up buying a one day pass for Epcot because he wanted another whole day at Epcot instead of Disney Quest (and he loves video games...yes...he is a grown man and he loves video games ;) ) So we ended up with 6 days at Disney . Then we had a few days at Universal but we weren't really impressed. Like my boyfriend said , it just didn't have the Disney Magic.

So now we're already trying to book our next trip :)

Wheee! :hyper:

I can answer a couple questions.

Your UPH is for the amount of nights you stay. So you can get a three night UPH, and it covers arrival and checkout days.

DVC is Disney Vacation Club. It's a timeshare. You purchase points, the minimum purchase is 150 points. You use those points to stay at WDW resorts. Old Key West, Boardwalk Villas, Beach Club Villas, Wilderness Lodge Villas, and the new Saratoga Springs are DVC resorts. You can use your points towards a studio (regular room with small kitchenette) a one bedroom (has full kitchen and washer and dryer) or two bedroom. There's also some grand villas which have three bedrooms, living room, etc. Those are expensive and hard to get due to there are few of them. You can also use points other resorts, you just don't get as big a bang for your points. Each night costs around 8-22 points depending on the resort, view and time of year. 150 usually gets us two, one week vacations at WDW. You can also trade with other timeshares, but it's complicated and I can't really explain it. You do not get park admission with your points. You get some discounts on certain restaurants, usually 15%, and discounts on some tours (right now the new Epcot Segway tour has a 15% discount for DVC, but also for Annual Passholder and Disney Visa cardholders). DVC has been a wonderful investment for us. We go about twice a year, or bank our points and get a one bedroom every other year. There's a DVC faq on the DVC board here on the Dis.

I hope I answered some of your questions.

Oh, and go next December and have fun.

Hi! glad you had fun! I can answer one of your questions. We booked directly through Disney and had to pay about half when we booked then the rest was due 45 days before our trip.(oh also we booked airfare too and I think a huge chunk that we paid in advance was the airfare)

Is great and the best family investment we made.Joined in 1993.Visit the DVC board for lot's of good info on it.Welcome back:wave2:

We are staying at POP 11/30-12/10, and our room rate (AAA) is $68.68 including tax. That makes the room portion of the package you were quoted about $210, making your UPH $560+/-.

Just wanted you to have a clear idea of what you would pay if done separately. Also, I believe this past early Dec a code made the values $49.

I'm a little confused , we have AAA. So we could book Pop through AAA for less and still get the package added on through Disney?

Thanks!

just a suggestion: you can almost always come out cheaper by booking room only reservations and purchasing hopper passes seperately....I think the general room for booking room only reservations through disney is 10% has to be paid within 10 days of making the reservation and the rest is paid at check-in...

Thanks. I will check into that. Is that cheaper than going with the package. Can you still get the UPH pass?

Thanks !

the only way to get an UPH is with a package....but, still, check out the different prices for the PHP's....it still may be cheaper to book seperately and just pay admission to PI if that's what you want to do...the 4-day PHP includes 1 plus option which can be used for PI....

You could also look into getting annual passes. If you plan more than one trip during the year, you will come out on top. Plus, there is a possibility of getting good rates on the hotels. Not sure on Premium pass that includes the waterparks, PI and DQ, but the regular AP breaks even at 8 days in the park. This may be something that you can look into if you think you want to go this December and possibly even next December.
