Just Back - All my questions answered

We were there almost the same time and reacted a bit differently to all the rain. Still a great trip though!
Glad to hear you all enjoyed your time!

Great post! Best safari we ever went on was in a downpour it was so flooded in the line they took us around another way, DD was giving me grief for pressing on but hey I had a FP we still talk about how great that was.

Welcome to the addicts club! Lol love to hear what first timers think as well!
We were hooked on our first trip together many summers ago that we booked our second one as soon as we left! We pulled into a Publix, called Disney reservations and booked for the following summer.
So glad you had a magical time in the happiest place on earth :)

Safari in the rain was also a highlight for us! Saw so many animals.

Watch out and you might be joining the DVC club too.

We have a bunch of friends who are DVC members and/or Disney regulars. They've all been saying we will get sucked in for good now that we've gone once. We have another kind of trip planned for next year, so it will be at least 2 years before the whole family goes back. However, I do have a couple of work trips to Orlando planned, and am thinking of bringing my teen along for a quick weekend in the World...

We have done the safari in the rain multiple times and they have been the best safaris we have been on. We got back from Disney last week and the evening we went to Animal Kingdom it was raining. (Rode Expedition Everest with ponchos on multiple times without a wait!). The rain had mostly stopped by the time we got to the safari but the roads were wet and there were water falls where we had never seen them before. The giraffes were right on top of our truck, all the animals were out and walking around (except the elephants). The highlight of that safari were the lions. All three were awake and the Lion was walking around. When we got to the other side of the Lion area, the male Lion climbed to the top of their rock (a female was lying up there behind him) and he started to roar - we were all stunned. It was the coolest thing I have ever seen and doubt we will ever see it again. It was our Lion King moment and we still talk about it. We had a lot of memorable moments on this trip, but this topped this list.

We were there at about the same time too and did not enjoy the rain one bit. We kept going, but it did dampen our spirits a little. I will say, the rain does help with crowds though, we probably got in more rides this trip than we usually do.

Glad you had a great time! Your reviews of Pandora give me hope that I'm not going to have to spend my entire AK day in line.
This! Feel better after reading this than the other thread, where the fire alarms were going off and the CMs screaming to keep moving :scared1:

What's up with all the rain lately? We have family members in Orlando and they keep saying how dry it's been for the longest time--like too afraid to strike a match dry. Seems like the weather is trying to reverse course in just the past couple weeks--glad for ponchos and hope not to use them much in August--but summer you know :upsidedow

Yes, it had been very dry right up until a few days before we got there. In fact, we saw some signs still up cautioning against fires, etc, due to extremely dry conditions. Just our luck though, we get there and the rain comes lol...
We go this same week every other year, and this is the most rain we've ever had. The prospect of another trip with that much rain has me considering another time of year for our next trip.
