We just returned late last night from 10 nights/11 days. I'd be happy to answer any questions if anyone has any!

TS:
Ohana dinner
Tusker breakfast
Akershus breakfast
CRT breakfast
Garden Grill dinner
Plaza lunch
Boatwrights dinner
Chef Mickeys breakfast
Le Cellier dinner

CS: (we have little kids, so this list isn't very adventurous)
Cosmic Rays
Pizzafari
Captain Cooks
Pizza Planet
POR food court (often)

As usual, the kids meal options are awful. I'll never understand why Disney gives adults the option of big iced cupcakes, but then gives kids a pre-packaged cookie and grapes.

We went to Goofy's Candy Co to investigate the make your own treats, and were disaapointed in the changes. We were able to get marshmallows with one dip, one topping and one drizzle. The rice krispies (make your own) were not allowed as a snack. The big oreo wasn't an option and I didn't even ask about the pretzels. :sad2: I realize that it's a small thing, but geesh - you would think that Disney could afford to offer a rice krispy treat with some chocolate and m&m's on it for less than $5!

I'd be happy to answer any quesitons anyone may have. Just let me know! :goodvibes

How did you like Le Cellier? Have ADR's there next week and haven't ate there in years.

how was the food at Ohana, Garden Grill and Chef Mickey breakfast? How was the character experience at GG and CM? Thanks

I'd like to hear abuot the Plaza - we are going on the DDP but think it may make more sense to pay OOP for this one. It is still on DS wish list and we haven't made it yet so have made ADRS for this one.

We really enjoyed it! I think that if I told my DH that we would eat there every meal on our next trip, he would be in heaven. I ordered the mushroom filet and he got the NY strip. Both were excellently prepared. The waiter was attentive, but nothing spectacular. Our kids were happy because they were able to get cheese soup, pretzel bread and smoothies! I am glad to have eaten there once, but I'm not a huge steak fan, so I could do without it again...however, my DH is still drooling over the thought of his food, so I'm sure we'll be back! :thumbsup2

Enjoy!

Ohana is our all time favorite place to eat. We love it there! The food is great and we've always had nice servers. They will bring you salad, wings, noodles, broccoli and dumplings. All are fantastic. Then the servers will come with pork, turkey, steak and shrimp on skewers. The shrimp are peel and eat, but they're very good, if you can get past the peeling part! The turkey has a great sauce with it. Then the bread pudding for dessert is to die for!!

Garden Grill was really the surprise of our trip. We were going largely because my DS wanted to see Chip and Dale. The food was excellent, the service was awesome and we really loved it! They served flank steak (surprisingly tasty) with potatoes, turkey with cornbread stuffing, mahi-mahi with vegetables. The kids got chicken nuggets, mac and cheese and french fries. I wasn't in love with the blueberry buckle for dessert, but I'm not a huge fan of pie-type desserts...

CM breakfast is always good. It's not anything fantastic though, but it's got a lot of variety and something for everyone. You won't leave hungry...fruits, eggs, cereal, pancakes, waffles, potatoes, sausage, bacon, oatmeal etc etc.

Character interaction at CM always seems a little rushed to me, but I think we've come to expect it. They're pleasant, but you won't get more than an autograph and a quick pictures. At GG, the characters came around twice! The second time, when we told Pluto that he had already visited us, he sat down at our table and pretended to help himself to some food and drink! The characters were great there.

Hope that helps!:goodvibes

I have to say that the Plaza is one of my new favorites. I ate there a year ago and fell in love with it. So, when I went back with my family, in August, I decided to book the Plaza again, and see how they all liked it. It was a huge hit. The restaurant itself is much smaller than most of the other places. So, it's a bit quieter, not a lot but a bit. The food was really, really good. I had a vegi sandwich (tomato, mozzarella, greens, pesto) and it was to die for. Dd had a cheeseburger and said it was the best one she had had at WDW to date. Everyone seemed to be very pleased with both the food and the service.

We also went to the Garden Grill. I have been several times but was trying to find something a bit different for my adult dd...she has been to WDW just one other time. So, I booked GG. I was pleasantly surprised...the food was much better than I remembered it. The service was outstanding. And both dd's loved it. I was thrilled that we had booked it.

We usually eat at the Plaza for a light lunch as a change of pace from all the burgers and fries and fried foods...We really enjoy it there. I get the tuna salad sandwich, my husband switches between the cheesesteak and club sandwich. You can get chips, broccoli slaw or fries with your sandwich...Then for dessert you can get a huge banana split or brownie sundae or other things (all immense). Our kids got grilled cheese and the Mickeylodeon sundae for dessert. Everyone was happy! :)

I think you'll like it there. It's not fancy, and it's not expensive, so if you have another place you'd rather use your TS credits for, then you could do that. For the 5 of us, including tip, it was $73.

Hope that helps!

Hello! I hope that you had a great trip! What did you think of CRT breakfast? We have an ADR before park opening, and we were wondering how the food is. What princesses were there for you? Thank you very much!

I hate to say this, but I think that CRT was a huge disappointment. We have always done Akershus, but thought that our DD3 was ready to see the castle...In the end, I though it was a waste. Our breakfast at Akershus earlier in the week was 100 times better.

We barely saw our waiter - he didn't even ask us what we wanted to drink, just poured us all OJ and took off. I had to grab him to ask him for coffee and tea and apple juice....His tip is included, so I guess service doesn't matter. He pratically threw our plates at us...and as his reward for a "job well done" he got an 18% tip!:sad2: Our kids were given a very small plate of bacon, eggs and potatoes. It was refillable, but none of it was good enough to get refilled. My Dh and I got a vegetable quiche type dish that was about 3" round (and tasted like it was frozen, then microwaved before serving), two sausages and some potatoes. The princesses breezed through quickly....

We saw Cinderella downstairs for photos, Belle (blue dress), Aurora, Snow White and Jasmine were there.

We were in and out of there in less than an hour and our bill was $170. :eek:We were on the DDP, but even using the 2 TS credits for each of us stung. I doubt we'll go back...

BUT Akershus is awesome! and I would highly recommend it there!! We went for breakfast as well.... saw Belle (yellow gown) for photos, snow white, jasmine, aurora and cinderella came to our table. The food was great, service was awesome, the characters were lovely with our DD. Plus, it still includes the photo package and it's only 1TS!

Thank you very much for your honest opinion! We ate at Akershus in February for breakfast and we loved it! We decided to skip it this year when we got the ADR for CRT...I have had such a tough time getting it our past trips...we have not eaten there since 1998 before DD8 was born! I think that we will still try it though...DD8 really wants to eat in the castle! I'm sorry that your server was bad...I hope we don't get him when we go in December! Thank you again!

That at least sounds better than what we were told-we were there week before last and told the only option on the DDP was the gingerbread cookie-who wants to dip gingerbread in anything??

Super. I'm allergic to ginger.

I'd like to know which character breakfast you liked best. We have Donald's Safari, Akershus, and CRT all booked. I'm guessing it's not going to be CRT from your previous posts. Also, did you find the sandwiches at the Plaza big enough to share?

Thanks

I guess that depends on what you're looking for...as far as character interaction, we've always enjoyed Akershus. The princesses are much more talkative there and friendlier. Food-wise, Tusker House is great for the excellent food, variety and service, but the characters are always rushed there. And you heard all about my view of CRT ;)

If you're getting dessert, I think that the sandwiches are large enough to share. Otherwise, I think that you'd need your own. They are very typical sized portions for your average "real world" restaurant. The club sandwich is just a club sandwich. The cheesesteak is the size of a typical sub-style hoagie sandwich. The tuna is on a large croissant which is a good size to split. The sides of chip, slaw or fries are not huge, but enough. The desserts, however, are crazy big. :)

Hope that helps!

I definitely think that if you have a DD, it's a must try! I had read all of the reviews before we went, but I really wanted to take my DD to eat in the castle too, so we went....I think that in the end, she would have been happy with walking in and looking around a bit! She was unimpressed. They do give the girls wands and wishing stars, so it's got some redeeming value -- especially if you're 8! So, I hope you have a great time! :goodvibes

I have to ask how Boatwrights was. I never see anything about it.
