here are some places that we ate & our opinions...

Mama Melrose FANTASMIC Dinner Package - very good food & very convienant for FANTASMIC as we did not have to wait in that very long line for a seat. But so you know, you are guraenteed a seat for FANTASMIC but not in a special location or anything.

CRT Breakfast: The food was not that great at all. but of course the Princesses made up for it!

Crystal Palace Dinner- Buffet was okay but probably wouldn't go back. Characters were great though!

Canada Le Cellier - Very very good food! Creme Brulee(sp?) was awesome! Steak was great as well!

Sci-Fi lunch - different atmosphere to dine in. Food was good & the milkshakes were yummy!

Chefs de France lunch - great french onion soup!

Kona Cafe - breakfast @ POLY - Tonga toast was very good!

since I also got back yesterday I'll post my reviews here instead of starting my own post. I cover both sit down and counter service places (counter service doesn't get much talk around here which is too bad because almost all of it was VERY good)

AKL
Boma. Ate here 2 times very good food and felt it was the best bargain at WDW. The prime rib was very tasty and I loved the hummus (however the olive hummus was a bit salty the 2'nd time) and the soups (the coconut curry seafood soup was great too bad it was gone on night 2). However the seafood was a bit dry, not surprising since it is a buffet. Also the place is VERY noisy and chaotic.

Jiko. Absolutely amazing I got the monk fish which was great, the taste of Africa bread/sauce sampler was impressive as well. Mother got the buttermilk curry shrimp which she loved (I didn't get a taste which shows how good it was) and she REALLY liked the rice-spinach cake that came with it.

EPCOT
Rose and crown (lunch). I loved the Guinness Stew, very hardy on a icky day and the cheese cracker was great, Mother got the Chicken Pasty which didn't look too good to me but she loved it, esp. the cream sauce.

Yakitori House: I had the udon curry which was pretty good but not spicy enough for my tastes (which is true of most Japanese curry) They really need to have some chili paste for people to add to their food. mom got the Shogun Combination which she liked, esp. the beef. However do not expect fine Japanese cuisine here, some people seemed upset that it was basically Japanese fast food (which it is), also the sushi did not look very good (it looked like the type you can usually get at a Kroger's in any town) and it was very pricey. Considering the price this meal was pretty good (and this is from 2 people who know Japanese food pretty well)

TANGIERINE CAFE. I had the lamb Shawarma Sandwich which was good but I ordered a side of fries which were HORRIBLE. mother ordered the chicken Platter which had A LOT of food, she reported it was good, all I had of it was the hummus which was good.

MGM

Brown Derby (lunch) WOW. We made a last minute change from the sci fi to here (because of worries I had about the food at sci-fi) and were not disappointed. I had the salmon Bruschetta and it was amazing, the salmon was perfectly cooked and the overall taste was great. Mother had the Thai Noodle Bowl (sans coconut) and reported it was very good, I had a bit of the noodles and could tell the sauce was tasty. it's amazing that this is the same price as places like the sci fi, the food is light years beyond what the food could be at the sci-fi (based on the menu) even if the sci-fi's food was well done (which seems to be an issue). Place wasn't all that crowded either. Highly recommended as a place to check out for lunch.

ABC commissary. Just so you don't think I'm going to be positive about everything here's a negative review. I had the Feijoada and it was very bland (once again Disney shoots itself in the foot by not having hot sauce available as a condiment). However it also suffered from the rice not being completely cooked, lots of undercooked and uncooked rice grains Mother had the Cuban sandwich and thought it was ok. Worse meal at Disney.

MK (and contemporary resort)

Lunching Pad. Hey it's giant turkey legs, if you like them you can get them here, if you don't then avoid, I loved the leg and had to fight the temptation to get another one all week :D

Columbia Harbor House. Very good couterservice. I got the clam chowder and it was good (however it does not come in a bread bowl, despite what guides might say) plus they had TABASCO sauce as a condiment so I could spice it up however I liked. Mom got the fried fish and fries (aka fish and chips) and it was VERY good, not greasy, and the fish was very tender and flakey not rubbery like most fried fish. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (plus you can leave and grab a spot for parades pretty easily).

Concourse Steakhouse (lunch). we came to eat at the CG but didn't realize it was a dinner only place so we ate here instead. I had the Five-Onion Soup and the peach BBQ tenderloin with jalapeño smashed potatoes. The soup was Very good and the tenderloins was ok, the bbq sauce was very good, peachy without being really sweet but the pork was overcooked and tough. Mom had a pasta dish which she liked . Not a bad meal but one that could have been better.

AK
Flame tree bbq. I had the beef bbq sandwich which was a good sized sandwich, however it was a bit dry (easily fixed by adding extra sauce but good bbq shouldn't depend on sauce to be moist) Mom had the bbq chicken sandwich which she reported the same problem. The beans were way too sweet for me (but mom loved them) and the corn was good.
