We just got back from 7 nights at CR on the 12th floor Tower Club (10/3-10/11). Everything was wonderful!! We arrived around 2pm on Saturday. We waited about 15 minutes at check-in because it was so busy. Fortunately, our room was ready. When we got off the elevator, the concierge greeted us and told us about their services and breakfast/snack times. Then, off to our room . . . it was GREAT!! We got our request for the MK view. I had read positive things about the view, but there is nothing like seeing it in person. We were thrilled. Before we left home, I asked the concierge to leave DH the Contemporary part of the monorail set for his collection and it was waiting on the table. He was very excited.

The best part about the view was the fireworks. We were traveling with our 2-year-old and 6-month-old, so we didn’t get the chance to stay out late enough for fireworks often. Thanks to our view, it didn’t matter. Saturday night, we stayed out late and saw FIS at MK. On the walk back, I commented on how I had been hoping for a Wishes preview . . . well, I got my wish. Around midnight, we were awakened by the sounds of fireworks . . . they were “practicing” for Wishes. It was great (and the babies slept right through it)! Sunday, we got to see the MNSSHP fireworks (which were GREAT). Later that night, Wishes practice again. Monday was the final FIS and another late night Wishes practice. Tuesday night was another Wishes practice. Wednesday was the Wishes premier for the Media Event. Thursday we got to see Wishes from MK . . . as good as it was from the CR, it was even better from Main Street. Friday, we got MNSSHP fireworks again. I was hoping to catch fireworks 2 or 3 times during the trip, but ended up getting at least one show every night!!

We had the concierge make all our PSs before we left. We wanted to change a few things during the week and they were very helpful in trying to get us in the restaurants we wanted. They were able to get us in to Chef Mickey’s at the last minute. We had a great table at Hoop Dee Doo and they got us 2 CRTs (although I cancelled one). Overall, this service was nice and made things easier.

Every morning they had continental breakfast (bagels, doughnuts, pasteries, juice, etc.) and in the afternoon from 2-4pm, there were snacks (brownies, cookies, goldfish crackers, rice crispy treats, etc.) and lemonade. We ate the continental breakfast 5 of our 7 mornings and found it very convenient and pretty good. We typically took advantage in the afternoon and had a snack too. Overall, the food was good and very convenient.

Since the kids go to sleep so early, we usually had the Do Not Disturb sign out before turn-down service came around. The one night we were out late, they turned down the beds, left chocolates, replaced towels, and emptied the trash. It was a nice perk. We also took advantage of the free refrigerator. Housekeeping brought one up shortly after we checked in. It was really convenient and nice not to have to pay extra for it.

Overall, we had a WONDERFUL trip. Let me know if you have any questions.

Sounds like you had a great time:)
Have you ever stay in another conceirge, if so how does it compare? We stayed in the Poly conc. last trip and it was wonderful. You did not mention any other food offerings- were there none besides breakfast and a snack. Also did they have free water and sodas available during the day. My husband really wants to try to Contemporary conc. b/c of not having to walk nearly as far when you get off the monorail (I know he's lazy) and I heard the 14th floor conc. is only suites.

Now I have something to live for LOL!

After my AKL-C trip this summer, I'm going to start planning my next vacation at the Contemporary concierge level. I have always wanted to stay here, because of it's location, and also for it's meaning in the whole grand scheme of things as far as Walt's ideas for WDW. I'm happy yo hear you liked it!

Hi princesslondon-
We haven't stayed concierge anywhere else, so I can't directly compare. However, I've heard the 12th floor called "concierge light" because it isn't as complete as the full concierge service found on the 14th floor or the other resorts. There were no other food offerings other than breakfast and the snack. In the afternoon, there was just lemonade to drink- no soda or bottled water (although housekeeping left 2 bottles of water in the room every day). The concierge is also only on duty until 4pm.

I think that the 14th floor has regular rooms that serve as the 2nd bedroom to the suites. If the suites aren't booked, I think you can book just the room. Mousesavers.com and disneyworld.com show a rack rate for a regular room on 14th floor, so I think you can get one. However, I don't think you can ever get them discounted like you can for concierge at the other resorts. (We did the FTP and they did not offer the 14th floor).

HTH!

Thank you for the info. The Poly was great but the walk was very hard with a 2-year old from the monorail to our room. I have always loved the feeling of the Contemporary and hopefully we will stay there next time.

Thanks so much for this post. We leave in the morning for 7 nights at CR Tower Club, and this post really puts me in the mood for vacation to start. I can only hope there is enough pixy dust left for us! Sounds like you had a magical experience:sunny: :sunny:

that's wonderful. we stayed there this past summer, and it was wonderful!! We are going back this summer. We got a little bit cheaper of a rate with our AP's but it wasn't much. It was relly grea for our family, and it wasn't at the expense of the 14th floor.

Wow, sounds like you had a wonderful time! I never thought I would want to try the Contemporary, but you may have changed my mind. ::yes:: Those fireworks sound great!

Thanks for the review! We stayed there three years ago for 10 nights MK view and it was beautiful! We are staying there again this year for the last 3 nights of our trip and are so looking forward to it. We tried to get the last 4 nights but it was booked.

I also would like to add not to forget the bay lake side. No it doesn't have the castle view, but you still get the electrical water parade, you can see Epcot's fireworks, and fireworks from Universal/Sea World. I think that the whole place is special!
