Just back 5/31 - 6/6 thoughts

Confused, how can you ride TSMM 5 times with FP? I must of missed the glitch that people are using to get a lot of free fp's.

My situation Saturday was not a glitch, a loophole, or a cheat. We used our original three, then we got TSMM as a fourth, after we used it, we got it again. Then again. Then again. This was all just using our regular bands and the app, refreshing over and over to find a time we liked.

My dates overlapped with yours a bit and we also stayed at POR! Maybe we crossed paths and didn't even know it. We didn't find the buses to be that great but we also seemed to have bad luck and would arrive just after a bus left, so we had to wait for the next one. We Ubered a lot instead. Interesting what you said about the heat, it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. We are from Phoenix though, although that's a completely different heat. The only day I felt the Magic Kingdom was really crowded was Saturday 6/3, but a lot of people cleared out after the rain/fireworks. Even then, I'm used to the awful bottlenecks at Disneyland so the crowds at the MK didn't feel nearly as bad because we weren't stuck in a wall of people. I agree that the Animal Kingdom wasn't as crowded as we expected. We also had really great luck like you with scoring 4th, 5th, and even 6th FPs for in demand rides including TSMM. Refreshing the app really works!

We were there the same time. It was hot but not the hottest I've ever been. The weather was comparable to what we are use to in September but it seemed better. In September, it is hot and humid until the sun goes down and this trip it seemed to be cooler after around 4 or 5. It was a little more crowded than what we see in September for example it's a small world was 35 min wait last sept. vs 25 in May/june. Maybe about 10-20 min wait time difference between the 2 different times for all rides.

Our dates were nearly identical, and so were our experiences! This is our third year in a row with these dates, and the roughest weather ever--extreme heat and gullywashers, as you said.

On Saturday, 6/3, using our entry bands only, we rode TSMM 5 times with FP, just by refreshing! Then got FEA at Epcot later that night!

We still had a good trip, but I am hoping for better weather next year. Oh well.

Yeah - absolutely brutal heat on Wed and Thursday last week. Boys both got sick.

Ah yes, rain. Plain and simple, it sucks when it rains at WDW. Others will say, "We love it, it lowers the crowds!", or something else. However, in our experience, it greatly diminishes our fun. You go from hot, wet and steamy to FREEZING cold inside. Clothes are sticky, it's humid, and the parks just don't look good when it's raining.

Ok, rant over. :)

Florida in June. It is going to rain. I get that. But this year, it was downpour, build and Ark type of rain. Maybe we've just gotten lucky in the past, but it was every day at some point. And yes, when your raingear fails, that "dampens" the fun LOL

On our first full day we usually get to the bus stop a bit earlier than expected and they we can see about when the buses swing by. We noticed most arrived roughly at the top of the hour give or take a few mins for most busses at the North depot, so we planned accordingly. At POR north depot we never waited more than 5-10 mins. 2 years ago at CBR, we would routinely have 20-30 min waits.

Crowds weren't bad - touring plans had them pegged about right. We rope drop so it never matters to us. We walked on Space, Splash 2X, BTMRR 2X before any of them truly hit a 25/30 min posted wait. Then used our FP+ to ride again.

We were there the same days you were. It was crazy hot the first part of the trip. Ugh. We had a great time as well.

Umbrellas in the rain at Disney aren't the way to go. You need a quality rain suit, jacket and pants. Probably also need a change of shoes or water shoes that dry quickly.

Yeah - we had jackets - but this rain was so heavy it rained horizontally LOL. Wearing flip flops helps - but then the toes get cold. Long story short is that it just sux when you get caught in a monsoon.

:thumbsup2 Yes, yes, yes!!! Hate it when people try to say to make the most of an empty park. Fine, for them, no arguments from me, but for 'us' it's not fun. We are all different, and handle things differently. We're happy to leave when rains set in (not talking about quick showers).

It's normal type weather sometimes - I'm a deep south girl, I know the odds. We have left a few days early, not upset, just not staying and being miserable. Most times though, it's a 'day' thing, then over. :goodvibes

We hate the sauna feel of ponchos, so umbrellas are our 'go to' protection, but we don't 'do' heavy rains, so has worked quite well.

What do you do with a rain suit, jacket and pants when you are not wearing them? They are probably great when it's pouring outside but don't think most people would want to carry them around all day, waiting for it to rain.

We were there 5/28-6/5, and I agree, the heat was the worst we've ever experienced. Several CMs told me it was similar to August weather. Because of my severe asthma, the heat changed our park plans some, but we still had a blast. As far as the rain, I agree with a PP that umbrellas make touring in the rain a little more difficult. We pack good ponchos in our bag (usually one of us carries a drawstring backpack to hold suncreen, ponchos, etc.) and wear shoes that have a more waterproof exterior or sandals with no socks. Each day, we have a rain plan. If we're at HS, for instance, we head to shops or One Man's Dream. Our favorite place to wait out rain at Epcot is the Japan pavilion. Just know ahead of time how you will handle a downpour or a complete washout.

Same here, POR 6/1-6/3. Temps were 9k but the rain on Friday. Uggg. Ponchos & tevas, but after 2 hours we just couldn't stick it out at AK any more (did Lion King, Na'vi and Tough to be a Bug during the monsoon)

Many people have bags, backpacks, strollers etc. Or put them in a locker. Not difficult

We are here now and have had great luck with getting more than 4 fps and multiple
Rides on big rides. We were able to ride Soarin three times on Wednesday, tsmm twice on Monday, and FEA twice on Thursday.
