Not sure I can actually bring myself to do a trip report on what should have been the most wonderful trip ever and turned into a total nightmare

Highs
The utter beauty of the park drenched in snow
Loveliness of Ezy shuttle driver Fadwa
Realising how valuable good friends are
Watching fantillusion in heavy snow , beautiful.

Lows
Air France losing ALL of our luggage and only returning it at 10.00pm the night before we left
having to spend half a day shopping for cheap replacement clothes so we could be clean and dry (all the kids newly purchased snow stuff was of course in the suitcase)
Having to leave really early on our last day to catch TGV instead of shuttle as motorways were closed
Getting to the airport to find our flights had been cancelled
Spending 2 nights in the French version of the crossroads motel 6 miles from the airport yet really in the middle of nowhere
Having to make our own way home via taxi , train, ferry, car, train, train, taxi, own car
Spending approximate £800 we hadn't planned for, and losing three days work

spending 3 days and 2 nights

oh my god that sounds terrible. glad you are home safe

I'm so sorry to hear it turned into such a nightmare. To have such an awful delay and disruption and to be out of pocket seems a double whammy.

Time to plan your next trip to take away the memory of this one? ;)

Oh that sounds awful Zinderella, so stressful :scared1::scared1:.

Glad you're home safe and sound now, hope you have a lovely Christmas.

Glad you got home eventually.

We left on Friday, had to spend approx £600 to get the last three seats on an air france flight after our Easyjet flight was cancelled, it does leave a bad taste in your mouth but we were really lucky to get home the same day.

Hope you still enjoyed your trip though.

What a nightmare trip and Air France losing your luggage, what a terrible thing to happen :grouphug:

:( I feel really bad for you being so let down. Plan another trip for next year! Don't let your bad experience ruin it forever :)

What nightmare trips :sad2:
I really hope you get some compensation.

I'm sorry to hear that you had such a nightmare travel wise. We were so fortunate with our flights, and were luckily only delayed, not cancelled. Just focus on that memory of the parks in the snow - such an awe inspiring sight! I'm fed up of snow here, but I could cope with it in Disney!

:grouphug:

Thanks everyone for the kind words.I'm going to fill in insurance claim form today to hopefully recoup our losses.maybe then I will have the urge to upload some of our photos of the park which were truly amazing. But no more winter trips in the planning!

I have to say I agree with you - when its snowing its cold and its wet, that would be the worst conditions for me on any holiday. Although the photos are beautiful, I've just been looking at them shivering and thinking "brrrr that looks freeeeeezing". My DD would be moaning her head off in those conditions too, not exactly conducive to a Magical trip ;).

I love Christmas season at DLP, but I think it'll have to be first/second week of November or not at all for me in future :confused3.

We went this year 4-6 Nov and watched the park transform from Halloween to Christmas. The tree was unveiled on 5th (tho not officially) and snow on Main Street started on 6th. Aim for 2nd week in Nov and you get the Christmas magic! Only probem in persuading kids that Santa isn't coming as soon as you get home!

I'm sorry this trip turned into such a nightmare for you. I hope you get insurance sorted out.
