YAY:
March of the First Order - a fun way to start the day at this park; enjoyed seeing the storm troopers, then caught them + Darth Maul (not sure?), Boba Fet (?), Rey, Chewy in another procession later; didn't catch the show in front of the Chinese Theater due to timing.
TSM - FP several days; the line area is claustrophobic due to the construction, but it's still a very fun ride, DSIL hit the jackpot with her big score - my old arms were tired by the end!
ToT - DH & DBIL used FP several times; always a hit with them, love the theming.
Star Tours - FP, but not sure it was needed; liked the addition of stuff from The Last Jedi.
Jedi Training - wow, this sure has grown; always fun to watch even if it's not your kids. LOL.
Models of Toy Story Land, Star Wars land, preview of Wrinkle in Time - CMs in this area were friendly, informative, enthusiastic; bonus - we got to see Baby Groot; it was fun to see what we can look forward to in the future; Wrinkle in Time preview was okay but Oprah...distracting somehow.
Mural of Star Wars Land - DH thought Disney did a great job of opening up area around Muppets theater despite all the construction; was very happy to see the mural and talk to a friendly photo CM about the future of the area.
For the First Time in Forever: Frozen Sing-Along - we (me, DSIL) used this FP as a filler while the guys were doing RnR; entertaining and funny; loved the humor and the 'emcees'; we marveled and enjoyed the kids in the audience belting out every word to every song; a pleasant surprise.
Street Entertainment - not sure of their names, but they put on a short, funny show on the street near Beauty and the Beast theater; corny jokes, good ad-libbing and interaction with guests.
Star Wars Fireworks - we just watched from path to BW area so missed the ground stuff, but still enjoyed it; it's probably much better up close and personal, right?
Benches! - love to sit on the benches along Sunset Blvd or by Echo Lake to just catch my breath & people watch while enjoying a drink; wish all the parks had more of these.
NAY:
Food options - lots of grease & garlic (MM, Pizza Place, choices along road to ToT, SF); Backlot Express was okay, not great; Brown Derby is pricey (might try lounge next time, as fellow DIS member suggested); 50's PTC is okay, but portions are big and not always in the mood for the teasing; Starring Rolls area is just an empty shell (got excited when I saw the awnings still in place, only to be disappointed at the blank windows); miss The Writer's Stop (it was a well-kept, quiet stop for us every trip); need a good, unique sandwich place option...
Lack of Attractions - I know, I know, things are coming; in the meantime, this was a half-day park for us though I know there was more we could've done; 4th FP for TSM were tough to get due to closures; We could've done Beauty and The Beast, Indiana Jones, Little Mermaid, but those didn't appeal this trip for some reason. In retrospect, we should've investigated the area behind Brown Derby (Animation area?) - forgot about that.
We enjoyed this park more than we thought we would and appreciated how easy it is to get to Epcot resorts (did not enjoy Friendship Boat CMs though - see post in Transportation thread). Next time we're in this park, I'll make ADRs at one of the Epcot resorts or hit the Swolphin for a decent lunch/dinner.
Can't wait to see how this park comes together in the next couple years!
