Just back 11/9-11/11 Crowds??

Hi everybody.

We were there last week. First trip with kids. I won't post the whole report, but will be happy to answer questions, etc.

I have a question for you all though:

I had planned this trip for almost a year and wanted to go during a low-attendance time. When we got there though, the crowds, espeically in the MK, were Awful!! Worst I have ever seen. (I hadn't been in 8 years.) All through fantasy land, the wait times were well over an hour. Even It's a Small World had a posted 30 minute wait!! You almost could not get through the street at Fantasy Land b/c of the crowds. Even Main STreet was packed!

Did anyone else think that was crowded or is Disney always like that now? It really took the fun out of it for us. I'd like to plan another trip but how can I miss the crowds?

I'm with you! We thought it would be a slow weekend. But it was Super Soap Weekend at the Studios and there was some art festival at DD. I'm really glad that we had Friday and Monday, because they weren't so bad. Monday, we were able to get on everything we wanted with the longest wait on Buzz about 20 min. Space Mountain had like a 45 min. wait, but neither DD or DH will go with me so I just skipped it.

We were on Main Street to watch Wishes on Saturday and couldn't believe how many people there were. We stood still for about 5 min. because no one could move. I've always heard the week before Thanksgiving and then the first 2 weeks of Dec. are pretty slow.

We were there and the crowds seemed ok to us - what time of day were you in the MK?

It was crowded. It was a holiday weekend, soap opera weekend and the end of Jersey week. Starting Wednesday, the crowds really decreased.

Bummer. We left on Tuesday night--completely exhasuted from the crowds. I'm glad that is not how it always is though.

Any suggestions about how to plan a trip and avoid the crowds?

I was there also from the 5-12. And have to say the MK was the best for us on our last day the 12th. MGM was also very crowed because of the super soaps. We found the crowds to be the least at AK.
Next time we go I will make sure its not during that week. Maybe the following week will be a better time for us............................LOL
