This was our first time staying at a moderate resort. We had two rooms in Oak Manor. Check in on 10/10 was quick, our rooms were ready later in the day so we headed off to Epcot.

Overall, I liked POR, just didn't love it. I requested AB either 14, 15 or 18 so I was kind of surprised to be in Oak Manor. Our rooms did connect which was another request. I had two nice surprises though, we received 2 Happy Anniversary pins and a signed picture of Mickey wishing us a Happy 20th Anniversary, which was very cool!:thumbsup2 Our mousekeeper was great, room was always clean and she always made us cute little Halloween towel animals (ghosts, pumpkin).

Never had a problem with Riverside Mill food court even though there were a ton of resort guests. The buses on the other hand were not the best. We spent half of our time standing room only on several of the days, which is never fun after walking all day long.

All in all, I probably will stick with the 1 room in the deluxe category. Having the extra bathroom was great, but I didn't feel like I was at WDW. I missed the monorail. IMHO I didn't feel like I was at a Disney Resort, just a very nice hotel.

Any questions, I'll be happy to answer.:)

That's interesting you didn't get ANY of your room requests? Did you ask if they were full? I wouldn't think you went in that busy of a time where all three buildings were full?? I would have been disapointed :(

Since the OP only had four people, two people per room, that is probably why they didn't get an Alligator Bayou room. Since you can have 5 people in the majority of those rooms, POR tends to put (or basically has to put) those larger families over there.

We were in Building 18 on our last trip. We had a full room with our four boys (one under three didn't count toward room count).

Actually, we have always been in AB with 2 people! :)

I wish they could just have a set number of rooms with the trundle beds in the Alligator Bayou section and a set number of rooms with the trundle beds in the Mansion section. That way it would be easier to accomodate room requests.
