Just back…Great trip, but...

OP - thanks for posting. Glad you had a good trip, sorry that you didn't like POR -have never stayed there, but DS24 has that one on his bucket list. Thinking of doing the Boma breakfast this year, but not so sure we want to cut into park time as we would have to leave our resort to travel over for breakfast.

Thanks for the updates on your trip!

Sorry to hear about POR, we did FQ in Sept and absolutely loved it and decided to check out Riverside in May! Hope that we have a nicer experience, although we don't use the food court at all, and the busses do worry me lol!

FP+ wise I feel like I feel the same as you, we really like the freedom to park hop somewhere and know we're getting on the headliners that evening!

I've noticed more problems with rides, stopping while I'm on them or having to come back later. However, I'm not sure if since I'm reading about it so much on here, if I'm just paying more attention and it's sticking in my mind more, or if it really is worse than it used to be. I don't tend to be the most observant person overall.

Sorry to hear you didn't like POR. I love it there, so pretty, and it's definitely my favorite food court - in fact, I've gone there for dinner on just day trips before! :) With buses, I've had bad experiences and good experiences everywhere - I feel like it's really just a matter of timing.

Sorry. I should have posted this in trip report forum :confused3 POR was a beautiful resort, but it just wasn't our cup of tea. The dinner at Tusker House was very poor. Very expensive and the quality of food was poor as well. we usually do breakfast, which we have always enjoyed. We must have had bad luck with rides because we had many problems. We saw a cast member on a cellphone in Germany, one on a phone at Soarin and one at Toy Story Mania laughing and texting while handing us 3D glasses. We also had a cast member tell us to relax when we questioned a large group that line-skipped our Mulan character meet. He was Mulan's handler and he was kind of an a$$. Overall, we met so many wonderful families from across the US. I didn't see a lot of pushing and parade seat-stealing. Most everyone we encountered were kind and courteous. So many kind people gave up seats on very crowded busses for the elderly and others. That was nice to see. I have nothing against the use of ECVs, but people should practice a little before hopping on one and taking to the parks. They are very dangerous if not properly operated, and we saw a lot of people who had no idea how to operate them. Once again, overall great trip with tons of Magical moments. Even in midst of price increases, FP+, refurbs and other issues, 95% of the time, Disney does it all right! It really is amazing when you think of the size and breadth of the place! :thumbsup2

We came back yesterday after a 5 day trip. We noticed a lot of tech problems with the rides. We were stuck just about to board Dinosaur and got a paperfast pass for that which was good since we had used our FP+ to enter.

I wondered if we were just noticing more this time, especially when we used one of our 3 precious FP+ to enter a ride and then the experience was poor due to glitches. Previously we would have just grabbed another FP for later in the day but now that isn't an option we wanted a perfect ride!

Also saw a CM on the Peoplemover on a cell yesterday, appeared to be texting. She was alone in a ride vehicle as it was taking off at the beginning of the ride. Assume she was going on a break?

Ok. Here we go! Just back from a 10 day stay at POR from 2/13 to 2/23. This was the only way to ease my Disney Depression today :worried:

POR - Not really wowed by POR. We stayed in a RR. We had requested a second floor, corner room in Oak Manor. Got everything we wanted…but…construction around the resort was a bit annoying, not a "trip ruiner" but definitely noticeable! The resort is beautiful, lush with super-friendly cast members, but the busses were poor and the food court just average. RR is amazing first day, good second day, but overdone as the week progressed.

What's an RR?

Everyone is different. POR is my family's favorite moderate by far. We prefer the Alligator Bayou section.

Caribbean Beach is our least favorite. Full beds still? Come on Disney.

If I were to rank the moderates based on my personal preferences I would put them:

1. Port Orleans Riverside
2. Coronado Springs
3. Port Orleans French Quarter
4. Caribbean Beach

So funny…different strokes :) mine are:

1) Caribbean Beach
2) Coronado
3) POR
4) FOFQ

Going back to Caribben Beach next February! Hooray! :cool1:
