Just Arrived, Triple Dipping

I'm not really sure how I'm bragging about the price I paid. In retrospect, I'm embarrassed I was duped into it.

I don't expect everyone to accept my perspective but I do think people can disagree with civility. When I booked the room and trip generally, I recognized there would be terms and conditions. I also have my own terms and conditions. When I get ripped off my concern for the offending company's bottom line dwindles. I think Disney owed me a clean, well kept room for $230. They didn't deliver without being asked specifically. Some may think I owe them for parking, and if they ask, I'll deliver.

I'd also like to remind people that I didn't ask to be invited to test MBs. I accepted and as a result I've discovered some issues. One of those is that there parking lot attendants, en masse, assume MB wearers are staying onsite. To the point that my vehicle has yet to come to a stop at the gate prior to being waved through. Presumably Disney accepts some risk in inviting people to test their new system. I haven't hidden the issues I've discovered, quite the opposite. In fact, I operate a consumer review website and will post the results of the test and send a link to Disney.

Have I chosen to halt my vehicle in clear disobedience of the direction given by the CM? Nope. I realize this portion of the test is to my benefit just like triple dipping. I'll wait till they close that loophole and I won't feel the least bit bad about it. I didn't read a term or condition that said any portion of the test that advantages the tester must be refused and reported. Lucky too since I also discovered how to ride the same ride twice with FP+ today at AK.

Whatever makes you feel better man! I'm surprised someone who runs a consumer review website wouldn't be able to get proper compensation for the absolutely unacceptable condition of the room. Others on this thread have encountered the same conditions and they made sure that they were satisfied with the response/solution from Disney. You stated here it wasn't worth your time to get the proper solution. That's your problem. Then you come here and complain lol.

Well said:thumbsup2

I find a couple of things interesting.
1. Its a rarity but I have had a few room issues on property over the years and my experience with customer service was quite the opposite of many who have posted here. As in I have always found Disney to be very reluctant to admit fault or give a crap about rectifying anything unless you really become insistent. So much so that I have quite given up on even saying anything in the last few years because the risk of popping something while on vacation is just not worth it to me (not that there have been many times that I would have said something, but there have been times none the less) So, maybe things have changed in the last few years and that is great.
2. There are folks who will demand that Disney comp them a room because of M&M's and a hair(or whatever), BUT they are morally offended that you accepted comp parking because you had your MB on.

Pretty sure I could have stomped my feet and been compensated. Do I need to provide my CV of all the companies I've dealt with and the compensation achieved to convince you? I came here to post about triple dipping, not to complain about a hotel. Admittedly it has ballooned into that at times, but it isn't the main focus.

No I don't need to be convinced of anything lol. You came on to post about triple dipping and port Orleans ghettoside motel :thumbsup2 We actually found pofq to be the ghetto one! Pre-refurb but still. Not a fan of that one!

The nerve of those *******s! ;) Are you still triple dipping though?

I was at AK last two days so no since FP- is gone there. Looked for holes in the system and was again able to ride EE twice with FP+.

Going to HS studios tomorrow so I'll be triple dipping and looking for second scanners not in use.

How the heck do you spend two days in a row at AK??

My bet is somebody here snitched on you. Or WDW reads these boards. Or both.

So, you are scanning your MB at the first FP+ scanner, not scanning at the second one and then using the same FP+ again for the same ride.

No. As I explained earlier, if the second scanner is inoperative, you can enter the line with FP-, and be waived through the second scanner by showing the MB. You don't have to surrender the FP- and you ride again. I'm sure this, like the parking will be sorted quickly.

Come on now Jomar...your not scamming the system are you? Your giving us lawyers a bad name.

That certainly seems to be the popular view. I take the position as
I've said earlier, that I am pushing a system that is being tested. Funny, people like me have the bad name you've referenced until we help someone by finding one of those loopholes. Then we're the second coming.

While this may be an oversight from the assumption that the scanners will NEVER break down of be inoperative :lmao: this doesn't sound like a "loophole" that can be used once the legacy FP is gone from the parks. Cause then you wouldn't have a FP- to enter the first line with, correct?

So, it's actually NOT using FP+ to get 2 (or more) rides, it is just using a breakdown in the system with the ability to score FP- to begin with, if I understood what you are doing correctly.

Obviously once FP- has gone, so is this loophole. To take advantage you need a FP-, a MB and a second scanner that is not being used. Using FP+ to ride the same ride twice was at AK and is a separate loophole. There are no paper FPs there.

This is why Disney is making it all Magic Bands and FP+ by the end of the month. When I spoke to Disney today they said that people have been finding ways around the 3 per day limit with the old machines and stuff so come the end of the month it will be only 3 per person per day to make it fair for everyone. The only advantage is for people staying on site...they can do their FP reservations 90days ahead. The day people get theirs when they get there from what is left.

"Finding ways" makes it sound so secretive. You stick your card in the machine. Just like you always have. I would have absolutely done so had we been in the parks during the testing. Disney made guinea pigs out of their guests without asking, all while offsite guests were eligible to get more FPs than the offsite guests spending valuable vacation time fixing problems associated with their bands.

And it's 60 days, not 90.

Finding ways was the Disney agents term, I was just passing it along. I would definitely also be doing whatever I could to get more....3 a day seems lame. Plus you have to choose between soarin OR test track...that sucks. Maybe I just want 3 FP's for Test Track....why not....3 is 3.
And I thought it was 60 but she corrected me today and said 90.
She was definitely the most UN-Disney res. agent I have ever spoken to.
I wasn't wished a magical day....the shine is wearing off....haha.
