Just arrived at CSR

Hi everyone... I arrived this evening around 9:15pm at CSR. We had a fast check-in about a 2 minute wait. They gave us a room in Casitas Bldg 2. The place is just great!!! We had a good dinner at the PepperMarket; DS event got a free dessert by our waitress for finishing his hotdog.

I had already stayed at CSR last November for a 2 day conference and also had a pleasant stay. This is DH and DS4 first time here and they didn't know which way to turn to see things.

DME got our luggage here about an hour ago... We thought that was fast; we were thinking it would probably arrive around 1 - 2 am.

Just finished "decorating" our room window saying happy birthday to DS. I have a couple of more surprises for him tomorrow.

Well I'm going to bed, i'm so tired.

Oh! We took our DD8 for her birthday last May and loved it!!! The Casitas are beautiful! Your DS will LOVE the pool and playground! Have an amazing time!
They were remodeling Franciscos and the gift shop~are they done?

I wanted to take my DD down in December of 2008 and CSR is no longer listed in the dining plan. Anything you could find out would be greatly appreciated! In years past, many non-Disney owned restaurants (like in Downtown Disney, Epcot & at CSR) were still in contract negotiations when the participating restaurants list was released. I would stay tuned for mid-November, as that's when additional restaurants have been added. IMO, I wouldn't worry - just keep checking, especially in mid-November.

Do you think your Casitas building and grounds are prettier than the Cabanas area? The limited Diser pix I've seen seem to portray the Casitas as much prettier.

Also if you get the chance, please ask about Maya Grill - why it is not on the DDP? Made our December reservations and have one ADR for the Maya Grill. But will soon need to try and make another if its not on the DDP.

Oh and have a great time there. Tell us your favorite thing about the resort itself.

We just returned from a 5 night stay at CSR and we loved it! We were in Cabanas 8A, close to the pool, close to a bus stop. We were very pleased. We were on the dining plan and used some of our TS credits for breakfast at the Maya Grill on our last day.

Have lots of fun!

We are coming to WDW for the first time Nov 7...we are a male 53 and female 51 and we have saved for 8 years for this trip...Disney has been a DREAM for me all my life...but...life got in the way...also son 24 and Girlfriend will be coming with us...maybe...just maybe we will be lucky enough to get a dream come true from Disney..my god …its almost time …a little over 2 weeks.to wax poetetically if I may...I used to watch "Wonderful World Of Disney" every Sunday as a child and young adult with dreams of going there some day...we are staying at CSR
All I can say is we have a count down going and CANNOT wait until Nov 7, 2007 at 5:30 am when we leave for WDW!!!!!:

Well let me try to answer some of your questions:

• Maya Grill - Manager said they are still negotiating and hopefully will be back in next year's plan. Told him that there was a forum full of worried people about Maya Grill not on the list yet and were hoping to see them because they LOVED them. (had to make them see several people WANT them...lol
• Lounge - the lounge is not open yet. I spoke with a CM earlier today and she stated that it seems that they will be open until 10/28 and it seems that..
  well...how can I say this....It will not be called Francisco's anymore... lol The new name will be Rix Cafe yes..R-I-X I thought she was saying Rick's and she's like no... R-I-X (she actually spelled it out for me) ...They currently have the bar by the lake open.
• Refillable Mugs - there not 64oz mugs ; I believe these are about 20oz mugs. I just put a bottle of water in it and it filled up. Unless they have other mugs...but we said we want the refillable mugs and that's what they took us...
  
  
• Room request - When I made the reservation around February I just asked to see if I could get something close to the Convention Center (since that's where I'll be the next couple of days for a conference). They just said that they would try their best (I got lucky). My window view is to a parking lot, but I'm happy with it. I don't need a nice view since I won't be in the room alot. PS...Mousekeeping also did a great job

We've had a great stay so far and the buses are coming one after another. We went to MK twice todays and only waited about 3 mins for a bus. We got to MK withing 10 min

Glad to see several of you looking forward to this trip!!
