Hi Helpful People,

We live in an older home with some interesting detaills -- doorknobs and knockers, etc. I would love to hang some black and white photos of some of these things. However, I want some opinions as to which is your preferred method of creating a B&W image of this type: (1) desaturating a RAW shot or (2) converting to B&W in the Editor of Elements 5?

As always, Thanks for sharing your experience!

you will get a much better conversion by converting the RAW in your editor, just desaturating will not give you as strong a B&W photo, there are a lot of techniques availible.

Search on "Russell Brown B&W Conversion" for a slick method of converting your color images. Russell is the creative director for Adobe, and a funny guy!
