Just adopted a cat! ^^ But... *UPDATE pg. 2 PIC!! :) *

she probably sleeps there cause she can hear your heart beat and its comforting to her.
I am so glad everything is working out. Cats can take a while to come around; but its great when they finally begin to get comfortable.

What a happy, contented looking kitty! Congrats!

I just wanted to say too, thanks so much for all the advice! It really helped to set my mind at ease when I couldn't get a satisfying answer from anyone else. So... :thanks:

My two cats are so different. Sheba is the smaller one, we have had her since she was a kitten. She doesnt like to be hugged like the bigger cat does. Mousetrap is the big one and I could just hug her all day. Both of them sleep with me and hubby on my side of the bed taking all of my room.

i HAVE to ask, is Mousetrap from the Erie County SPCA?? black and brown??

Thought I'd give an update and its good news! :goodvibes

Last time I was here, Jenny (That's her official name now because of my love of Doctor Who :thumbsup2 ) had been having a really hard time adjusting to being here... But I'm happy to say that she is doing much better and has really made herself at home. :) She has pretty much claimed the patio as her personal spot, and has been doing everything I had hoped she would.

There's one thing I'm wondering though... She seems to have an obsession with laying on my *cough* chest... :lmao: I took this yesterday while I was on the computer. She slept there for about 45 minutes. I guess she must have been comfortable... ;)

Dad says she must be a male... :rotfl:

my boy cat used to do that all the time when he was a kitten, he'd constantly lay on my chest and just fall asleep, it was so cute! he doesn't do it anymore tho. he lays on DH's lap most of the time now lol.

eta: this is exactly how he used to sleep

Yeah, that's what she likes. She's actually doing it right now...

It's really hard to type with a cat laying on your chest... :rotfl:

yeah it's not so bad when they're kittens and they're only like 5lbs. i can't imagine him doing it now, even tho he's only 9lbs lol.

one of my girls is 15lbs and she'd probably crush me trying to sleep like that lol

Haha!!! She has decided that you are OK and you make her feel secure. I bet that she gets more and more confident as time goes on.

She's a very pretty cat. :)

Aw, that is sweet. You may think that she is your cat - but actually you are her human :goodvibes

My Tinker Boo did the same. Here is a picture of him on my DH:

Aww, he looks like my Nubbs. We adopted a kitten in feb who was 4 months old, he had tested positive for fiv, but you know that young could be a false positive. But we brought him home. We also have year old German Shepard. we kept them apart, with door and gate.

Let me tell you. Every morning the kitten wakes up in Dd's room crying. Who is he crying for? His big brother, our GS. he rubs his head against pup's snout. jumps down and rubs against pup's legs. pup loves his "little" brother. the kitten has discovered pup's long tail and plays with it and pup just lays back down and lets him do it.

What a cute kitten! My cat used to do that too, when she was little, but doesn't anymore. She likes to sleep near me, but not on me, now!

We found our Tinker Boo on our driveway the weekend before Halloween two years ago. We thought he was a girl and called her Tinker Bell, then we found out he was a boy - hence Tinker Boo. He is a real sweetie and smart. He figures how to get into everything.

We just adopted another cat and named him Simba. He is still getting used to us, but is very polite. When I come in from outside, he comes to meet me and get loves. When I put food in his bowl, he stops and loves on me as if to say "thank you".

Here is our Simba:

Such handsome cats. Nubbs was tested for the last time and is FIV Positive, the vet said we can't have another cat who isnt FIV live with us. Nubbs stays inside, regardless if he was fiv or not. but he is funny, cats decide when they want you to play with them. But he is greatly loved.

My beloved, late Shadow was a chest cat. If I so much as sat down, he was on my chest. At 14 lbs, he was quite a chest-full! He was a solid black and so very loving.

Our new kitty, Daisy, I think likes my husband more than she likes me. She lays on his chest and not mine.

I have had 2 chest-kitties over the years. Woody, who we got when we were newlyweds in 1991, was ALWAYS on my chest- he wanted to lie around on me 24/7. He also liked to perch on DH's shoulders. He died 2 years ago, and we got 3 other kitties. One of them, Lily, is a chest cat. Thank goodness, she is the smallest of our 3- she can curl up and not smother me.
