I just added on 100 pts at SSR. I took advantage of the double developer points, which are still available. I already have a trip booked for October that I borrowed points for. My guide said that they would put my borrowed points back into my 08 use year and use the developer points for my trip. Has anyone done this? Just wondering how it worked? He said I would not have a problem doing this and if I did to make sure I contact him and he would take care of it.

It's unusual to have borrowed points "put back" once they have been borrowed. Although I haven't heard of that being done in conjunction with an add on, there have been reports of exceptions being made for other reasons.

If there are wait lists for the room type, resort and dates you already have booked, MS should not allow you to "substitute" points. It's possible there aren't waitlists though, and if not, it shouldn't be a problem to use the developer points.

If it were me, I'd call MS asap (before your guide forgets, lol) and see if they'll do it. If they won't (even if there are waitlists), I'd definitely call the guide back and ask him to keep his promise.

Called MS today. My developer points were already in my account. They used them for my upcoming trip and put my borrowed points back into my 08 use year. Wow that seemed too easy.

developer points are treated comppletely different than regular points. They can be switched out for current reservations without cancelling that reservation and rebooking. No chance of loosing your initial reservation.

Normally if you wish to switch out points at the 7 month window, you must cancel current reservation and rebook with the points you wish to use.
