I'm just going to vent. :furious:

We're leaving in next week and I'm in the process of ironing and packing the remainder of our clothing. In the process I noticed that a pair of shorts I had packed for myself had a small stain and promptly took them out to wash them. I tried them on... :furious: and they are TIGHT!!! (before I washed them) I spent all summer getting down to my pre-pregnancy weight (I still have a few to go, or so I thought).

Backtracking...I gained over 70lbs with my twins and it was such a struggle to get the weight off, so when I was finally able to get my butt into a size 4 I was THRILLED. Now the shorts are tight...

It better be monthly bloat...DH and I have already settled on not having any more children. He said to me this am...wouldn't that be funny? Sure hunny.... :)

Perhaps I can stretch them out or something? Ahh...the life of a woman.

Ok, I feel better.

Just a note for you, Don't be so hard on yourself. :sunny: Clothing sizes have been getting smaller. A 4 from last year is not necessarily that of a 4 this year. It has been posted a couple of times. Different manufacturers have different sizing even though they say a 4 it is probably more like a 3 or 2.

My DD has this trouble as well. After she had her last daughter (age 2) her hips were larger and even though she lost to under pre pregnancy weight things still did not fit well. She was a 5-6. Even with exercise.

Good luck to you with the twins... :sunny: :thumbsup2

Yes, you may never get in those size 4's again. I was a size 4 before kids. Even though I lost all the weight after, I never could get back into them again. My hips and waist seemed to be permanently wider. The smallest I can do now is a size 6.

Don't feel bad---before I went to Disney last year, I had to borrow shorts from my girlfriend just to get me there. I had gained like 15 pounds and the closer I got to the trip the tighter my shorts got. I REFUSED to go buy new ones. I was so embarassed, mad and pi$$ed at myself for letting myself get that way (which only got worse as the summer went on that year leading to 20 pounds). I can't relate to your size 4, 6 or even single digits, but I can relate to the frustration that comes with it.

So much so, that I joined Weight Watchers this past May and have lost all that I had gained plus some!! WOO HOO!!!! So now I'm hoping to keep it off this winter and lose more by next August when we go to WDW again.

Maybe just try drinking a lot more water if it is bloating or salt retention? That might help ya :) And personally, if I were you, I'd go get one size bigger just in case you plan on eating and not watching while there---cause I know I'm always good for at least 5-10 pounds UP before I get home. You'd hate to get down there with your regular shorts and then not be able to even wear them comfortably. (that happened to me in Vegas once---but hey, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!!) :rotfl:

Please don't be hard on yourself, it is just a shift of your body. After I had my first(I gained 60 and there was only one) I got on a fitness kick, exercised, ate well, and even lost more than I had gained. I was really pleased with myself and pre-preg clothes were loose. But things still fit differently. There was a shift and I had hips for the 1st time. :confused3

I wish my problem was getting into a size 4 or 6 or 8 for that matter. I know it is frustrating for anyone who wants to wear clothes that always fit before but a womans body is not the same as it was before pregnancy. Use it as an excuse to buy new clothes.

First off, congrats on losing so much weight! I always say having a baby is like blowing up a balloon and letting the air out...our bodies may be the same weight again, but not the same shape. Also, some months I retain a whole lot more water than other months, enough to where my clothes are tight :( It's a drag, lol.

I'd wash the shorts and let them air dry and see if they fit better. The good news is that you aren't leaving tomorrow, so there is time to buy new shorts, even if that is not what you want, you'd be more comfortable in something that fits.

 I'm a little embarrassed that I used these boards to talk about such a silly subject. People have MUCH worse to be concerned about.

I think my morning just started off on the wrong foot. It's not that bad and I'll be fine...:) I just needed a little perspective on the situation...DH whipped me right into shape.

I wouldn't change anything about my pregnancy...it was the best and I'm so thankful for my little peanuts. MMmmm love those Krispy Kreme donuts. :rotfl2: Haven't had one in a while...perhaps it's time to take a little trip.

Thanks to all for letting me be a witch!

I am happy you're feeling better! And for the record, I didn't think you sounded like a witch at all. Now had you run around this thread like Chicken Little thinking the world was going to end, that might have been too much drama for me and I may have stayed away ;) But hey, I'd react like you did :goodvibes

As for it being 'silly', it was important to you. We all have serious and silly in our lives, and just because others have bigger issues at the moment doesn't make our little issues any less important :dance3:

Enjoy the rest of the packing!

It's okay. I had a bad "weight" morning too. Somehow I gained 5 pounds in one day. I know it's probably water weight or something but it still stinks to see the scale up so high.

I was about ready to throw the dumb thing out the window :rotfl2:

What a great thread!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Is there any woman out there who is happy with her weight? I am the same weight as before I had kids, but like many of you my clothes just don't fit the same. I gained in the hips too! Bummer! My scale has not budged downward for a long time, so maybe I just need to be happy with who I am(my husband thinks I look fine. I am a size 12, very average). Maybe in my next life I can be a size 4!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yes, I am happy with my weight because I don't jump on the scale anymore! :rotfl2: Seriously I use to be fixated on the number and had issues because of it. After two kids, it's not something I go by anymore. I work out several days a week and I eat right, but I don't deny myself all the time like I use to. I'm currently breastfeeding my second beautiful, healthy baby, so I must be doing something right. I'm happier and healthier now that I don't let the numbers dictate my life.

Hmmm...I can totally relate to the same weight/different shape post pregnancy body. After I had my daughter some of the weight from "up top" decided to go "down south." How did that happen? :confused3 It doesn't seem fair to me. Oh well, smaller tops and bigger jeans seems like a fair trade off for my fantastic dd.

It happens because the joints in your pelvis loosen up in prep for delivery. Even if you end up having a C, your joints will have already changed. They tighten back up after delivery, but almost never exactly the way they were before. In most women that alone counts for about an inch of hip measurement.

Also, if you have been working out to lose the weight, you may have pumped up certain muscles. Back when I made wedding gowns for a living, I often encountered situations where a bridal gown ended up tight in the back/shoulders because the bride had been working out to lose weight.

It's not so much that my hips got wider as that I lost some chest and gained some "junk in the trunk." ;) I actually cried b/c I had to get smaller bras.

I'm not fat - I'm just too short for my weight.

I thought I was the only one who obsessed about the extra pounds. I feel more normal now. Thanks.

:thanks:

I just found this thread, and I have to laugh because after my 3rd (last) baby was done breastfeeding, I went on an exercise and diet craze and lost 50 pounds (I had been slowly piling them on since baby #1). My bra size went down more than 1 cup, plus several inches, and I was SO happy! I didn't like having a big chest.

OP, I understand your frustration. After my weight loss, I was a size 6 (high school size, whoo hoo), but now, a year later, I've settled into a size 8. I was bummed at first, but now I think that's where I naturally am--it takes exercise but not dieting to stay there. I hate watching every little thing I eat, but I don't mind exercising 4x a week, so that works for me. If you're healthy, maintain a good eating lifestyle, and exercise, (I guess those all fall under the health catagory), try to be content. And go buy a size 6 shorts for Disney, so you can EAT! :teeth:

I'm 10 pounds under my pre=preg state but I'm a different SHAPE...stinks huh!!!

But I have 2 gorgeous awesome kids so who the heck cares :rotfl:

To be a size 4 after having twins is quite an accomplishment! You really shouldn't moan!

I'm a size 6 after having my daughter, had to lose a lot of weight to do it, I was about 160lb after giving birth. It came off fairly easily in the next 6 months though :goodvibes: but unfortunately my hips are permanently wider. They look huge, I'm so out of proportion these days. Boohoo!

:rotfl2: Thank you all so much for the posts.

however, I wish I had the problem (ahem clearing my throat) with "shrinking cup size." Mine got a cup LARGER!!! and they weren't small to begin with.

DH doesn't mind... :rotfl: but they sure do get in the way sometimes. My hips also weren't small and they too are LARGER!! Seriously, not complaining now because I'm looking at my peanuts and they were worth EVERY SINGLE POUND of weight gain.

But hey, if you see a woman walking around with shorts too tight, :wave2: .

thanks all!!!
