My husband does this occasionally, but it's more a thing where I EXPECT him at a particular time, even though he didn't necessarily TELL me he'd be home at a certain time. For example, he plays soccer once a week and sometimes the players will decide to go to the pub that sponsors them for a beer. Now if his game is at 7, I expect him home by 9:30-10:00 or so. If they go for a beer, it might be 11:30. Sometimes it's our OWN expectations that disappoint us, not something that the hubbies have actually done. They should at least do us the courtesy of letting us know they aren't coming straight home.
Maybe once or twice a year there will be a retirement dinner or a mess dinner or something, and he's come strolling home at 3 or 4 in the morning. I always tell him "Look, it's not that I mind if you stay out with everybody and have a good time, but after a certain time and you're not home, I start spending the insurance money!" He gets my point.
