Just a Vent...December fares and MSP

duds, I totally agree with you.

Let NWA fail. There is so much business travel from MSP to other places, plus the leisure travelers...the demand IS here! Any airline would see the gap and jump in here as a way to make money.

I wish they would just do it now. The idiot politicians seem to think it's a way to hold on to high paying jobs or something, but they don't seem to get it that other airlines would need mechanics, FAs, baggage handlers, etc the same that NWA does.

I wouldn't be so anxious to have NWA fail. We lost our USAir hub here in Pittsburgh, thousands of jobs were lost, many non-stop flights were lost. With the connecting traffic gone, they only needed about 1/2 the flights and many of those were reduced to commuter planes. Some other airlines did come in but nothing near to replacing the lost USAir flights. I couldn't even get a non-stop daytime flight to LAX last week, I had to connect through Phoenix. Keep in mind MSP is Northwest's major hub, I'd bet at least half the people you see in the airport are connecting, not originating in MSP. Without the hub, they will be connecting elsewhere.

Ummm, no please! They are the major carrier and the cheapest airline out of my regional airport!
