Yes, I am a she. Read all of Nebo's trip reports and just when I got up the nerve to post and join in the fun on the last one, the TR ended . So, when I found this one I decided to join all the fun. Basically very shy so it took me awhile.

Well... I went to get the groceries while I was on a break at work.
After work I had an event I had to attend.
After the event we had dinner.
After dinner, Elle wanted us to watch a movie, so we did. (Extremely loud & Incredibly close - interesting movie)
Now it's 8:45... and I'm tired... and the cookie thing ain't happening today.
Tomorrow's Mother's Day.
I work from 6:30 - 3pm then I'm taking Ruby out for dinner.
Then we'll probably watch the Survivor finale.
Then it's Monday.... I'm off Monday.
Hopefully Monday.

Eureka! I found the cookie recipe. Seriously I made three batches of these over the Christmas holidays alone. I usually make them a little larger than the recipe calls for so one batch for me usually makes 4 dozen. I make a lot of cookies(5 different types at Christmas plus cake pops) and this recipe is my favorite.

I don't think I've ever seen a Heath bar. Suggestions for substitution?

I absolutely did win a blue ribbon! Beat out all those grandma's that had been baking for 60 years when I was 17.

Hey Pkondz, sorry about the Heath Bar! I googled it to see if there was anything similar for you, and hopefully you are able to find Skor Bars. Do you have these? They are almost identical to Heath Bars, both are made by Hershey's, but, in my opinion, the Skor bar has a more buttery toffee flavor. Yum!!

Well, I would like to be allowed to post, so here's my recipe. We call them "crack cookies" because they're as addictive as, well, crack.

Hope you enjoy them!

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 bag Heath Toffee Chips
1/2 cut slivered or chopped almonds

Stir flour, baking soda, salt together and set aside. In separate bowl, mix sugars, butter, vanilla, and eggs. Mix dry ingredients into sugar mixture and then mix in toffee chips and almonds.

Spread batter into a buttered 9x15 glass baking dish. Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes. Remove pan from oven, and firmly tap the baking dish on the counter so that the dough 'settles'. This helps the cookies stay moist and chewy.
