That would be pretty difficult, it depends on what size place you rent. Condos might range from $70/night for a 2 bedroom off season...to $140/night peak season 3 bedroom. Townhomes are generally $110/night - $165/night, again, depending on season (Easter, Xmas, Thanksgiving are holiday/peak rates...just like the Disney resorts!)

Larger 4/5/6 bedroom pool homes cost more obviously... ranging from perhaps $150/night - $275 / night, depending on the size of the home and season.

Prices do vary by the level of furnishings, amenities, electronics, etc offered in each home as well. Many have free high speed internet, free phone calls, free baby amenities like strollers, crib, high chairs, video games for the kids. Some have high end plasma TVs, similar items, or high quality mattresses / linens, etc., or Disney themed rooms.

You do tend to get what you pay for...but the whole resort is brand new, so we have yet to see a home we would say is awful and wouldn't be happy staying in, it just varies slightly, and it depends on how happy you would be in a place with a "basic" furniture package at a lower price than a place with a "platinum" level setup with slightly higher rates.

Generally you can expect to pay the cleaning fee if you stay less than 7 nights...and you can also expect to pay for pool heat. Typically pool heat is $15/day or $95/week, possibly $20/day on the larger pool homes, and is needed during the colder months.

Many owners will rent by the day...some have a 2-3 night minimum...most will charge the cleaning fee to the guests though (typically $65-80) for "short" stays. (Less than 7 nights). Also, many owners will discount for longer duration stays.

The thing is..all of the homes are independently run and operated, so all of this is going to vary slightly from home-home and owner-owner..so that's why I can't answer your question with specific answers unfortunately! That's the bad news...the good news? Well..since you can rent all of these awesome homes directly from the owners...you're cutting out the "middleman"...you're getting an incredible home at incredible rates considering what an unbelievably nice resort and homes these are, if you had to go through a central resort system or company to book these they would be WAYYY more expensive!

I know that this is a gated community, but I have some reservations about putting a young child in a first floor bedroom. My dh and I are looking to book one of the townhouse units (he fell in love with the splash pool), but the bedroom window on the first floor faces the front of the unit. Please ease my and my dh's fears.

Usually the downstairs bedroom has a queen sized bed. The upstairs 2nd bedroom has 2 twins, bunkbeds, a themed room, or something similar, so chances are, unless you have more kids than that, your kids would be upstairs in the bedroom next to you.

(I'm speaking about the 3BR/3BA townhomes here of course!) It IS a very quiet, safe, gated community though still, usually we don't even hear neighbors or anything.

Of course, like anywhere else these days, I would lock my doors at night of course! Same applies anywhere you go though, even Disney hotels.

We have two kids, boy 9 and a girl who will be 11 at the time of the trip. They do not want to sleep in the same room; which is why we were looking at a 3 bedroom. We did see some 3 bedroom condos, but of course, we won't get the private splash pool. Of course, we will lock the doors--it's just that window on the townhouse that is giving dh some pause. Decisions, decisions...

It's a very safe, quiet, gated community with security guards, I don't know what it's like where you live of course, but I wouldn't feel unsafe for 1 second with my kids sleeping in the first floor bedroom, and they're younger than yours! Our niece just came with us (14) in September, she slept in the first floor bedroom the whole trip, loved it!

Not sure what else to tell you, some people get nervous over things like this, but the resort is a very safe place. My DW for instance can't sleep alone in a house, they had a burglar break into her parent's home when she was a kid, she gets freaked out if I'm ever gone on business for instance.

Anyhow, do what feels right! If you feel better or safer in a 3rd floor condo then go for it! Either way you'll have a great trip, it's a wonderful place!

You could always put both kids upstairs, one in the twin room and one in the master bedroom while you take the queen room downstairs. Each room has their own bathroom. You just wouldn't get the king bed if that's what's in the master bedroom but it might make you feel better to have the kids upstairs.

Can anyone tell me if the pool is good for a 2 & 4 year old? Is it a zero depth pool? Does the pool have a good size section of it that is only 1-2 feet deep?

I also forgot to ask if there was a snack shop by the main pool where you can get hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, ect..

Hi Dean-
The pool is a zero entry pool, so it's great for little kids, yes, at it's deepest point it's no more than 4 feet deep, much of it is shallower too, so it's a great kids pool! There's also a splash fountain / kids type play area as well.

There is sundry shop by the pool in the clubhouse, they have small snack type items, but it's not a fast food type of setup where they sell things like hot dogs. Now, I'm not sure that they don't sell hot dogs, etc, but they would be the kind where you buy the item and microwave it there yourself, as opposed to a food service type of counter where they sell you the hot food item.

I just wanted to concur with Cindy (the OP) about this TH at WH. I just returned from our stay there, and it was a slice of heaven! The owner was wonderful to deal with, and I really liked being in an end unit. The view out into the open space was fantastic. We loved Windsor Hills and its' proximity to everything. Yeah!!!! That is the exact unit we are staying in when we are in orlando in June. I was already booked at Cypresse Pointe but then I was just reading various threads for fun. The more I read about Windsor Hills the more I plotted to change my plans. My girls saw some of the pictures and begged me to change our reservations. I am a mean mom and told them I refused to lose our deposit through Hotelkingdom. They will be so excited when we pull up in the driveway. I actually often "lie" about these kind of vacation plans because it is so fun to surprise them (when I can actually keep a secret). One more month a counting!
