I was wondering the very same thing as my dd is the same age. I'm also a bit of a wimp with rides so was wondering how scary it is!?

hi there loobymiss,

it's not that i'm a wimp about the rides i'm not sure if it is alright to let my ds go on it, he would most probably enjoy going on it he liked going on the upside down rides when we were in florida last year.

hope we get some help soon!!!

ye it should be ok I was there in December with my GF her cousin who is 5 going on 6 was there and she got on it and loved it.

Guess it is maybe us oldies who need to asking if it is scary ;)
DP is hoping those pelic floor excercises will have done what they are supposed to :rolleyes1

My DD is 6 and is an absolute speed freak!! Any ride that goes upside down fast and spins you around is great in her opinion!

Me I feel sick on the tea cups:scared: !

DD is so excited about TOT and cannot wait. She's got the whole trip planned with what we are doing each day. TOT is top of her list!

It depends what your son is like - could a grown up try it first and see if they think its suitable?

My daughter turned 7 at the end of Dec and loved it...1st time the lightening scared her so we had to continue up to the lifts and go out the exit that way...2nd time she went on a really enjoyed it but said she wouldn't do it again...2 hrs later she wanted back on!!:rotfl: She absolutely loves rock n roller coaster though..why why why??????????????????

:rotfl2:

My youngest son first went on the one in Florida when he was 4. I didn't want him to go on but DH said we should let him if he wanted to.
He didn't cry but wasn't too keen.
But last year he had just turned 5 and my eldest was nearly 7 and they both loved it!:cool1:

They are both very much looking forward to riding the Paris one in a few weeks time!

Let him try it if he wants to. If he doesn't like it then he only has to go on one time.:goodvibes

My daughter has been riding the WDW version (and the California one last year) since she was 3, and she absolutely loves it. :cool1: I did get a few funny looks taking her through the queue at that age, though, I have to admit, but she loves the 'up and down ride' as she used to call it!

My husband, however, has always chickened out, and had to wait for us outside - he did try it last year though, and he loved it too!

hi there everyone,

thanks for all your replies, i suppose i will have to let him make up his own mind, he loves all the fast rides the upside down rides so he will most probably really enjoy it, my only problem now is trying to convince my 11yr old dd to go on it!!

thanks once again

I guess it alls depens on whether your son is afraid of thrill rides or not.

Mine is 6 1/2, very tall but afraid about anything new and darkness, we go to Florida each year and although he never tried it, his nightmare is tower of terror and he would never ever try it.

My daughter tried it quite small (maybe 8) and is not afraid.

I'im not afraid at all but my sister in law is...

It depends on whether your child is afraid of darkness and/or falling down or not.

These little 'uns sound braver then me. I hate rides that go upside down. I persuaded myself to go on the Indiana Jones ride on my first visit - it was only when the seatbelt bar came down that I remembered that the wretched thing went backwards.

I nearly revisited my lunch:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :faint: :faint: :faint:

Can someone explain what the ride actually does? DD has only been on tame roller coasters before, nothing too scary.

Im gonna bump this up coz Im not too sure what this ride actually does also.

Im taking a 6yo and he loves the rides!

I would so love to go on this ride but i have such a crippling fear of the dark i daredn't!!!:scared1:

Also Space Mountain and Rock & Roller Coaster are out and i would love to try those but again someone mentioned the D word (dark!!! ) fast and upside down however not an issue....

hehe I'm even apprehensive about going on crush's coaster but have been assured it's quite short........

I can only manage BTM and phantom manor if i take a watch that lights up or mobile phone on with me :rotfl: tragic at my age.

Maybe i can get hypnotherapy however if anyone can assure me that the rides aren't all that dark i may try them... (my hubbys rubbish whenever he comes off the ride i ask him if it was very dark and he hesitates which usually freaks me out sufficiently to not believe whatever he says!)
