My husband and I will be spending some time at Disney and I thought before we go we would go to USF and IOA first. We have both never been and really don't need to go to CityWalk, I'm thinking we only need to go for one or two days? What is your suggestions? Thanks:wave2:

Will you be staying onsite at Universal? Will you be going at a busy time? I would allow at least 2 days, assuming that you are either going at a slow time or staying onsite for the front-of-the line access. Three days would allow you to repeat your favorites. My minimum is usually 3 days, even though we did a day at each park in February (we had annual passes and had been less than a year before and were going back a couple of months later). My 3 days is with 4 kids between the ages of 4 and 16, though, so we do all, see all.

Have fun!

We stayed 3 our first trip and loved it so much we are going back for 6 days this year. I would do a minimum of two to three.

Have fun!

I would say 3 days too. If you are staying at an onsite hotel, you will save tons of time with FOTL and will get to ride your favorites as much as you want. Also, Universal is more "compact" than WDW, although you will do a lot of walking, you will cover more territory in less time.

We love Universal and it is just my husband and I....we go as often as we can!

Since you have never been, I say two at a minimum one day for each park.....have fun!!!!

We have both never been and really don't need to go to CityWalk
My husband and I just got back from our first trip to US, and we LOVED Citywalk. They have some great themed restaurants to fit just about any food and music taste: Motown, jazz, reggae, rock, dueling pianos, etc. There is even an Emerils. We thought it would be something like Downtown Disney (a glorified shopping mall), but it's really great! Give it a try!
Back to your original question: We spend 1 full and 2 half days at both parks and did everything we wanted, most things more than once. BUT we stayed onsite for FOTL and went at a slow time.

I agree. Citywalk is awesome, but I do like downtown disney too.;) :p

Don't discount Citywalk. It has a great atmosphere and is right there a few steps away from everything else at Universal. It's a great place to grab dinner and afterward its fun to check out the resorts or catch a movie.
