Jurassic World VelociCoaster Opens June 10th, 2021

I am sure there will be soft openings of Velocicoaster. I'm guessing they may work similar to how the soft openings Skull Island worked as we were lucky to be there during that. Basically you would be walking near the ride and see a line forming...and you'd get into the line. You may have to wait a while. Skull Island was notorious for breaking down during soft openings, but I imagine that is true for many rides. I think for our first soft opening we waiting about 2 hours. The next time it was longer I feel like....but we had other people of our group with us who weren't on it the first time. Of course some of the pre-show elements weren't working during our earlier visits. Still we will be there first week of June but only planned 2 Universal days and the rest Disney days so we'll likely not be around long enough to catch potential soft openings.

I'm super excited to ride it. Hopefully next February I can get back to Universal and ride it. I would love to see Disney have a coaster like this.

I saw the first Youtube video for the Jurassic World VelociCoaster this morning and from I learned about it one word to describe it is this. If you've ever ridden The Giant Dipper at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk this ride is similar to that and it is very fast. According to the video on Youtube Universal Studios did not do a soft opening for the ride but were filming commercials for it. Other things I learned is that VelociCoaster merchandise has been flying off Jurassic Outfitters shelves and will be sold out pretty much so I guess they must have really high hopes for this ride

Any ideas on what the ride restraints for this will be?
Excited about this but I also know several of universals coasters have a history of not being fat friendly. I’ve been fortunate enough not to have problems getting on forbidden journey, gringotts or the hulk but RRR is a definite no... just hoping I can ride this one

A quick Google shows pictures of them.

No over the shoulder harness on this one, just the lap bar. Like all the coasters at Universal I have no doubt they`ll have the larger harnesses on a few seats like RRR, Hulk and so on.

wow.. just a lap bar is a surprise. Thank you for the picture, and I’ll also take a look at google images. Here’s hoping I can make this one as it looks super fun :)

We are going for the first time June 7-10, and of course our last day is the premiere of velociraptor. lol

We got the promotion through Costco Travel and staying at Cabana Bay, great price. Did not come with Express Pass. Thought we could manage, until i saw that Veloci was opening. 0.o I went ahead and found a room at Royal Loews so we will have passes our 2nd and 3rd day.

For Velociraptor, no express pass....Guess our only strategy is to try to be at the park that does NOT have the new ride, right? Any recommendations on what to do on this day? Thanks!

I'm in a similar boat. I'm going June 7th and 8th. My plan is to hit IOA on the 7th because I don't want to be anywhere near there as it gets closer to June 10th for the opening of the new ride.

A little nervous as not sure what crowds/wait times will be like, but going to make the best of it.

Employee told me yesterday that Velocicoaster has been running really well for CM & AP previews, so the expectation is soft openings before 6/10.

My Thrill loving kids thank you. We will be there the week before it opens.
