I will be going to WDW/USO/IA in May and was wondering if this is a ride I will enjoy. I am not the type of person who enjoys thrill rides and roller coasters. I find the gentler rides more to my liking. Also, I hate getting really wet on rides. Would anyone recommend this? I know there is the drop during the ride, but I think I can put up with that for a few seconds..my main concern is the other part of the ride and the degree of wetness I will receive.

i love this ride on a really hot day. The drop is smoother than the one on Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom but you WILL get wet! Very Wet, same thing goes for Dudley Do Rights Ripsaw Falls and the Popeye rapid ride, whenever I do these rides i do all three of them in a row then have a change of clothes ready, they are all a lot of fun but it is not comfortable to walk around in wet clothes all day

JP River Adventure is a gentle ride. Sure there are some scary parts and the drop is over 80' (it's over in about 3 seconds, tops), but it's fun!

You will get wet, but not as bad as you will on Ripsaw or Popeye.

Gosh, I guess we lucked out - one time we got a couple of drops of water the other times nothing :confused3 Maybe sitting in the very last row had something to do with it?

Nope. It doesn't matter what row you're in. Luck is most important.

We just returned from US/IOA today and I loved the Jurassic Park ride. IMO, stay toward the middle of the boat to get a mild splash. We rode it several times including the very front (avoid if you don't want to get wet -- we got SOAKED) and the back (not as wet) but the middle rows weren't bad at all. Its a great ride especially if you're a fan of the movie.

Time... the ever flowing river. Come with us now to a time before man, when the river flowed through a new born world, and giants walked the earth...welcome to Jurassic Park!

Ahhh . . . brings back memories.

If you don't want to get wet then you should skip JP - I always get soaked! Sometimes you can duck and avoid getting so wet, but what's the fun in that?

Yep sometimes you can get some serious soaking

I got a lot wetter than anything you are showing in these pictures. We had just started the ride when heaven's flood gates opened and there was a torrential downpour. Rained so hard that we could not even keep our heads up, it was hurting our faces. Couldn't wait to get inside to do the drop so that we could be in the 'dryer' part of the ride.

I have been on JPRA close to 100 times, and I have been in every row. Sit in the back, it is less splash imo.

I agree with you cause the last time we rode it we sat in back and didn't get very wet.
