Jurassic Park/Dino Themed Adult Party Ideas?

Hi guys,

Me and my housemate want to throw a Jurassic Park themed party for our friends as we have a lot of cocktail making gear and unopened bottles of spirits gathering dust! We've got quite a bit on financially so we're looking at a budget of around $1 for decorating!!! Our only real ideas so far are to buy a green light bulb so the room feels more jungle-y and to print off and stick signs like "Hatchery - Autherised Personnel Only" on the doors of off-limits rooms. I have a jurassic park computer game so I can pull the sounds onto a disk and run it through the surround system so we get jungle noises and occasional dinosaurs roaring, I might be able to get "security camera" style video from the game and have it running on the laptops too.

Has anyone ever thrown any parties like this for their kids/friends, what other things did you do? I'm really after ideas to make the main room more like a jungle that don't involve covering everything in leaves! Can anyone suggest funny names for the food and drinks? I'm at a loss after Paleo Salad and Dino Dogs!

Do you live near any woods where you could go and cut down saplings? I did that for a "jungle" themed family night. I cut down a few armloads of saplings about 5-6 feet tall (evergreens and regular trees) and just propped them up around the perimeter of the dining room. Then I strung white christmas lights up around the ceiling for "stars". That was about it! It looked great! Wish I could post pictures but I'm sort of computer stupid! HTH.....P

Sounds fun! What kinds of food are you serving? That would help me w/ideas. If you have chex mix or something you can always call that "dinosaur treats" or something. Chicken fingers...Tyranasauros (sp?) Toes. Triceratops Horns for food that would fit a "horn" description. I'll think more about it! A bean dip or something could be Tar Pit Dip.

Okay - got DDs dino facts: for a drink you could have a "Mesozoic Mixer." "Creataceous Crunchies/Chips/Crisps", "triassic tacos," here are some more names...
