Hi I wanted to show someone the video of the boy in the water by the splash zone has anybody got the link for youtube thanks for any help for those who havent seen it its pretty scary
It definitely is not recent as I saw it about 9 months ago. Many have said it was edited to make it look like the other car came down right after he got his hat. If you read the comments left there, the story becomes more clear. Several people stated on IOACentral that the ride was put in an emergency stop when he got out.
People do crazy things. One lady on the DisBoard tells of how she panicked on SplashMountain and climbed out. Luckily she was fine. Another man on SplashMountain was killed that way---Not to mention the teen who ran under the rollercoasters at Six Flags in Georgia. Restraints on rides are there for a reason. Please stay seated.
Bev, how did you find it, I too saw it months ago when it first went up. I did every darn possible search that I could think of to find it, but with no luck

I remember this vid being posted before. Timmy Boy posted it, IIRC. Anywho, anyone who does something THAT FOOLISH deserves what happens to them--injury, permanent park banishment, etc. Those boats weigh over 10,000lbs EMPTY!

I don't know of this instance, but I do know that it has happened before. The ride op in to tower looks over this area and has video cameras to view the splash pool. That ride can be E-stoped up to the point where the boat hits the fall. I have taken many a passenger down the stairs who have paniced and jumped off at the top.
Those splash pools are cleaned daily by maintaince to pull out all the cameras/hats/sunglasses and anything else that falls out. They can even E-dump the pool if needed and the entire pools water will flow out into a retention basin backstage and allow for emergency responders to get to anything.
The water in popeye bilge rapid barges is awesome when this happens, the boats just rest on the bottom and you walk the guest back to the stairs.
I know Kings Island locally has set up alarms that shut off systems if someone jumps a fence. It is currently not on every ride, but I've seen it happen where a boy thought he would jump into the fountain and as soon as he got over the fence, they shut off and security was there in seconds.
