Junk pins

My stomach is sick after reading the pins thread. I just bought 3 lots of pins off of ebay and they are from a red-listed seller. What do I do? I was just told about your thread after making the purchases. My kids only want them to trade in the parks - we don't want to make money from them and they are not "collectors". We just thought it would be a fun surprise for them.

Can I return them to her and be sure to get a refund?
Can I keep them and just let the boys have some fun in the park with them, or is that a big no-no?
The listing says real disney pins - CL. Completely tradeable.
Will they be able to be traded? I'm in panic mode and I haven't even received them yet, but I can now see the difference in the pins just from the picture she has posted. AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH :scared1:.

Someone please give me some advice.

Okay..you now know..they are NOT real.
Most moralistic pin traders......
will tell you...to..
NEVER trade these..make magnets out of them....
or...send them back..if you can.
If you have already left the seller feedback....
it is almost absolute..that she will NOT take them back.
Although..the best thing is..to try.
If you did not leave feedback yet...
she WILL take them back....
and...lmk..and I will explain to you...what to write her..to insure that she does.
[there is also a nasty little trick to try...if you have already left feedback..but..PM me for that:flower3:]
now..on to the morals.....
YES..you WILL be able to trade them...
but...you KNOW they are fake.....
so...think..
Do you want to knowingly....put fake pins on CM lanyards....
so..that others will get stuck with them?
[I have seen many fakes on them]..
Yes....some do..and..some do not.
You CAN...but, does that make it right?
Only you..can answer that.
I will NEVER knowingly trade a fake...
even..if i got them from a CM.....
But,I have thousands of pins..
and..can afford to make that decision.:rolleyes1
So....YOU have to decide..what you think...is right.:)

Ok.....I havent received the pins yet. In fact, I just won them this morning (3 lots - one for each son) and haven't even paid for them yet. It is obvious from the pictures, though, that they are not what other reputable sellers are listing.
Should I do anything before I pay for them, or should I just pay and wait. I certainly don't want to offend anyone by passing along junk pins. My only thought was that this was too good to be true - and it certainly was. What is my first/next step? How do I find good pins that won't break the bank since this trip is such a tight budget?

Is there any chance if I let her know that what have been posted look like fakes that she will be extra careful to send real ones? Or is it most likely that all she has are fakes?

If you are SURE that the posted pins are fakes..then..that is what you will get...
and..not all are tradable..as..
some are...very obvious..trust me.
If you can tell just by her pics..........:scared1:..
If I were you,
I would send her a note...saying that after looking closely at her pics..you believe that she has mainly unauthorized pins.
Do NOT call em fakes..
you want to start on a good note.
and..
say that
..you ONLY want real ones..and/
if you get them..
and are not 100% convinced they are real...
you WILL file a claim...
and..you WILL leave Neg. feedback...
ONLY write this if you are sure.
as a crook will fight you...
and...an honest trader will block you.[because a bunch of honest traders[ like me ] will be very wary of selling pins....
to someone who [ wrongly]...will call them fakes..
and cost them their business..by leaving crappy stars..
Then..politely ask her to cancel the auction....
if she will not...
PM me...I will help you.
Now, as for reasonable pins...
I know a bunch of folks around here who will bring some to your hotel room or meet you...
and..sell pins in the 2 buck each for a hundred or so range.
the 2 buck pins are usually the tiny traders..and..so on.
But, they WILL be real...
most of these "good traders" will be selling single traders on ebay...
but, once you pay the extra 50 cents each for having them shipped..
it gets too expensive.
So..meet one in person...or..pm me for info.
otherwise..you can go to the outlet stores in Orlando,
or...go to Disney outlet.com,
last time I looked they had 3 pin.."UP" sets for 7 bucks...;)

Thanks....I will try what you have suggested. She is listed in red on the board and the pins all seem very tiny and not quite right. I think I need to trust my instincts on this one. Something isn't right - the listing has all the warning flags that are listed on the boards and they were way too cheap. I'll be in touch for help if I get stuck. I'd rather have pins I'm proud to trade than have ones that aren't right.

Good girl!
that's the spirit!:lovestruc
If you need help..and she gives you a problem...lmk...

Definitely contact the seller, tell her you've recently discovered traders and you're not too confident in purchasing from eBay, tell her you've changed your mind and you will not be paying. She will cancel the transaction because she does not want your negative FB, she wants to sell to others who have NO idea what scrappers are.

Then go to our thread and pick a green listed seller instead. :) :) You'll get good pins there!

Thank you for using our thread!! We appreciate it!!
