We received a Junior’s Cheesecake today as a Christmas gift Via FedEx.

It’s strawberry.

It was on dry ice and I tossed it in the freezer.

How are they, who out there has had one?

We liked it at Juniors in CT. They have a restaurant and bakery at the casino. So I ordered a red velvet one for Christmas last year. It was delivered late but still frozen. It was not as good as the fresh one or Cheesecake Factory.

I think that the strawberry cheesecake is the only one we have purchased from Junior's and we love it. I am partial to the New York style which is more dense than others. I really haven't had any that I thought were better. Enjoy!

We ate at Junior’s in NYC years ago and loved it! I do not remember what kind we had but something with chocolate

Love it! I try to get a slice everytime we happen to be in NYC. I haven't had the strawberry one, though, yet.

Their plain NY has no equal. Light, perfect texture. I can’t speak to the frozens.

Junior's is the epitome of NY style cheesecake. It is so loved that there are now TWO restaurants in Times Square within 3 blocks of each other. And they fill up before and after Broadway shows.

I love the plain and the strawberry topped which has wonderful crunches along the top edge. I also like their cupcakes too. They make it with real buttercream frosting. It's actually hard to find a cupcake with real buttercream frosting. So many places use some artificial goop nowadays.

Costco carries junior’s cheesecakes at certain times of the year. We have tried several of the flavors. We like them, but like other cheesecake brands better. They don’t have the thick graham cracker crusts like we prefer on a cheesecake.

We have frozen them with no issues.

Do you have to thaw them in a certain way? I assume in the fridge so there are no texture issues, or that the ice crystals thaw funny and the cheesecake ends up too wet or is weeping condensation?

Although, I've never had a frozen Junior's cheesecake. I walk over and get one from one of the restaurants and it is gone in a matter of hours. 🥰

When I was pregnant with younger son we lived about…9 blocks away from the original Juniors on Flatbush Ave Ext. Once a week a slice of plain cheesecake and a fruit salad ice cream soda. No matter what time of the night I walked in there (opened 24hrs/7 days @ wk then) they’d rush my order through. Make way for the jonesing pregnant woman, make way! 😍

I've been there once. It's huge and so iconic with it's retro original decor and red counter. I was so worried about Junior's when the pandemic hit as they had 3 locations they had to close down, yet keep paying rent for. 😧

Then when the pandemic lifted, they took an extra long time opening the Times Square locations. Some restaurants finally started coming back. The first things I wanted was a slice of pizza and a slice of Junior's cheesecake. 🥰 So, I kept monitoring how long they were taking and whether the locations would re-open. Even a Krispy Kreme opened up directly across the street and they had a line going down the block. But Junior's waited a few more months until the Broadway shows came back to open. Thankfully, all locations survived.

@Imzadi Where is the 3rd location? I know the Flatbush and Times Square locales only. Maybe there is one closer to me….num num yum yum..

@Robber Baron Ive never had a frozen cheesecake but since I live close to the restaurants it makes sense. I’m a purist so only eaten the plain. Which was delicious and worth every calorie to my way of thinking. Hope it’s good for you too and enjoy 5he season!

There are two in Times Square. The first one has been there on W 45th St between 7th & 8th Aves for years. (Next to Shubert Alley.) The third location is on the corner of 49th St & Broadway. It opened several years ago. Both Times Square restaurants are so small, that together they both make up the size of a "regular" size restaurant. :lmao:

I just let them thaw in the refrigerator. They are still tasty after being frozen!
