Junior Golf Clinics at HH

My DS (13) has recently gotten into playing golf. We are headed down to HH in March, and were wondering if anyone has had any experience with golf clinics for their children there. My husband also golfs, we are driving down, but are not sure we will have room to bring both sets of clubs. What are the greens fees in March down there? We may ship the clubs down ahead of time.

I am not sure about the golf but I will be there with my 13 year old DS so I would be interested to know too....

I seem to remember a clinic once a week at Palmetto Dunes, maybe it's been discontinued or I've got a bad memory. Unfortunately, I can't find the golfing guide (I think DH wore it out). But I do remember that golf rates go up at the beginning of March. You can pay up to $250 (yes that's per person, bring your own clubs) at Harbourtown Golf Links, but I think most places are less than half that. And there are specials by calling the day beforehand.

Just got back from HH this past week. We played all three courses at the Palmetto Dunes. Contact Hilton Head DVC and they can fax your a golf rate for the courses in the area. The sheet I have is for 2006 up to February. Rate for March last year ranged from $95 - $125 for a AM tee time, $50 - $105 for after 12 PM and $55 - $69 after 3 PM. All 3 courses are located near the Disney beach house.

My ds has done junior golf clinics at Sea Pines Country Club and the Island Rec Center has a program with a very reasonable cost. However, all of the jr. clinics I've seen advertised have been only during the summer months.

Let us know if you find something. I know that jr. tennis clinics are available year round, it would be nice to know there's one for golf.
