The Walt Disney Studios is excited to be in development with Mandeville Films and writer Roger S.H. Schulman on a feature film based on the Jungle Cruise, one of the most iconic attractions in Disney theme park history. The film will pair up Tim Allen and Tom Hanks in their first live-action project, after their previous collaborations in the Toy Story trilogy.

I wonder if this will mean a change to the ride?

Ummmmm... I hate to be a spoiler, but I think at the end they discover...

The animals were not real!!!!

Maybe Tim Allen and Tom Hanks will want to do some "method acting" preparation and spend a week as a Jungle Cruise guide!

It certainly has potential to be a good family comedy, but with the Shrek writing handling the script, I'm not particularly optimistic.

So will it be Hanks or Allen getting the point in the end? hmmmm

Since this announcement is about the movie, and there has been no word of the theme park attractions being changed, I've moved this thread to the Rumors and News board. :)

And Marisa Tomei won an Oscar for her work in My Cousin Vinny. What's your point? ;)

Seriously though, you've completely missed my point. Jungle Cruise is being written by the same person who wrote Shrek. I didn't like Shrek. Therefore, I am not optimistic that Jungle Cruise will be good. It doesn't matter if everyone on the planet likes Shrek (and for the most part they do, I'm in the minority, I'm sure), if I don't enjoy the writer's previous work then it's a safe assumption that I wouldn't suddenly begin to enjoy said writer's future work.

I didn't like Shrek either. Nor did I like LOTR's but that doesn't stop me from objectively seeing them for what they are. If we just use our own personal opinions as the starting point for fact we're going to get no further than naneenaneebooobooo.

This is the first that I've heard about this movie. I hope it's turns out good like Pirates did. I'm happy about the actors picked. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are amazing together!
