Jungle Cruise. -- love it or hate it?

Love it. Also, a lot lot lot of guests don't speak English. It's not as much fun for them. If you're riding with people who are talking over the skipper or not laughing at all, at least 50% of the time they just don't understand.

UGH I really hate when they talk over the skipper so nobody else can hear.....I also hate being put into the back of the boat near the engine, cuz I can barely hear....

Trust me, I hate it too!! And some of the boats have better audio than others. When my family came to visit me I actually demanded we get a boat with good audio! Haha!

I think that some people are just confused by the ride. Especially at the end. There is a dock on the left, and a dock on the right. That can be very confusing, because that's a Pair 'O Docks.

And those two people helping you out of the boat? They're a Pair 'O Dorks. Don't fall in the water as you leave. We'll have to charge you extra.

Very true. When we visited Disneyland Paris, Jungle Cruise was one ride we missed, but we realized that it probably doesn't translate to a place where many different languages are spoken.

Not a fan, personally. I always skip it! But on this next trip I'm taking family members who have never been, so I'm going to put them on it while I run across the park to Tomorrowland to get my facepainted (rather than dragging them with me), and meet back up with them after at Pirates of the Caribbean. :thumbsup2

We love it! Last time, though, no one else was laughing. I can definitely see why it wouldn't be funny if you don't like puns and corny humor. Reading the other posts, I'm excited to check it out at night on our next visit!

I love it, especially at night. However, last time there was an obnoxious woman who would shout out the jokes before the captain had a chance. We get it, you've been on it before...good for you. So have most people and we don't you need stealing the show!

We'll do it if there is nothing else to do but we don't love it. A good skipper does make it better but lately we have not had any luck.

Love the jokes and the banter from the skippers. As some have said, we like it much better at night.

Apparently some skippers have a response for people who are 'too familiar' for the ride, such as crowds of APs....

Your cadaverous pallor betrays an aura of foreboding, almost as though you sense a disquieting metamorphosis. Is this boat actually leaving the dock? Or is it your imagination? And consider this dismaying observation: this boat is completely surrounded with water, and I'm your skipper. Which offers you this chilling challenge: to find a way out! Of course you could always swim away!!! (flash lights on and off and make the sound of thunder at night)

Ala Pirates of the Caribbean: (In a high voice) I think you knows too much. You've seen the cursed treasure. You know where it be hidden. You may not survive to pass this way again. (Deep echoing voice) DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES. . .

I actually love jungle cruise. Never been at night, for some reason it's usually the first ride we jump on. When I was a kid I got to "drive" twice so I think that probably cemented my love.

I'm also a corny joke lover, so I guess I'm pretty much bound to love it.

So I had to jump in this board because I actually just left my job as a skipper. It was the most fun job I ever had :) That being said, I worked with some skippers that I would feel guilty loading people into their boat...after waiting an hour, you definitely need someone fun. I love love love the ride and will admit that without a good skipper, it is not fun. I sure hope I wasn't a skipper that someone on here hated! haha!

I know Skipper Zaxby and will pass that on to him! :)
Hannah! I miss you. It's Emily haha

I'm in the "hate it" camp. I get the whole nostalgia thing if you grew up riding it , or have fond memories of riding it with a loved one.
I just can't seem to.... I've tried, believe me. I've done my best to like it, but I just can't. I LOVE HDDR so it's not the corny jokes. I just don't get Jungle Cruise, but kudos to those who do :)

I absolutely LOVE the Jungle Cruise, day, night, all good. The corny jokes are a big part of it. DS and I frequently speak of the backside of water. That being said, I can completely understand how OP's mother was ready to swim for it. I think Jungle Cruise is one of those things either you love it, or you want to jump out of the boat. That is ok though, just means there will be a little shorter line for me next time :)
