Jungle Cruise-Go,Stay,Change?

I hope they keep it for as long as possible- it is definitely a classic. I am hoping to drag my father there soon- He loves puns!!!

Is it corny? Yes. But that's the fun in it to me, LOL. Is it pretty low-tech animatronics? Yes. Is it the most thrilling or even most interesting ride in MK? No. That being said, I still say keep it as is. It's, as others said, a Walt original, and it should never be removed. Feel the same way about Carousel of Progess. I finally saw that last year after 6 previous trips. Even if you don't appreciate the ride and/or attraction itself for the ride's sake, most people can probably find a way to appreciate the history/significance at some point in their lives. Different things appeal to people at different points in their lives. Doesn't mean you'll ever like JC or HP or CoP, but you might. Shoot, if I had a powerful position in the WDW Co. as a 9 year old, Epcot would have been demolished entirely (this was pre-Test Track, Soarin, etc. days) aside from Living Seas. But when I went back as a 15 year old I loved it. Still do. Although I don't love JC, I'm a big fan of Walt and the history of his theme parks, so I guess that's why I'm so pro-JC. Hopefully it will be around for a long time to come. It's a nice and amusing ride.

I can't help thinking that Walt would change it or demolish it if he were still alive. Walt was all about constantly changing the park and to be honest the whole point of it was that he couldn't get real animals. Now he can. The author of this post is right. Kilimanjaro is what Walt wanted out of the Jungle Cruise. Now that they have acheived it and the Jungle Cruise is left for "corny" and "nostalgic". Does anyone think Walt would be happy with that? Besides, it takes up an incredible amount of space, uses terrible AA technology, and has a awful que line.

Where is the Jungle Cruise? We have been to MK and AK in the past but I don't remember it. We went on the safari but I don't recall the jungle cruise?

The only thing that Jungle Cruise needs is a good technical updating. I looove the corny jokes, they get me EVERY time. haha.

I agree with your brother, you're in the minority. The jungle cruise should definitely stay. The interaction with the tourguide is much better than that on Kilamanjaro. Who cares if the animals are fake. Besides, there isn't any stupid poacher drama on the Safari ride.

Of all the years that we have gone to Disneyland and Disneyworld, this ride, although simple in its concept, never gets old. Perhaps some renovation to some of the animals or adding another section would be nice but not needed. I say keep it! It's wonderful for the younger crowd and a classic nostalgic ride for us veterans.

it's a classic - too many originals are falling by the wayside - I think it's great, the little kids (and us big ones too) love it and there are many little ones yet to come. I vote to definitely KEEP IT.

Keep it! Each time we go, I enjoy this ride. Maybe a little change here and there would be nice, but overall I love to watch my DD giggle at the goofy jokes and the hippos. Unrealistically fake- yes....corny- yes...but still a good time.

As a former Jungle CM I say keep it! There's nothing quite like the hippo pool. But they could bring back the old guns. What else will keep the hippos out of the trees?

The animatronics just keep getting better and better. Adding Disney animals would definately enhance the themeing. and the CM's can still keep the corny jokes that everyone groans and loves!

I think that adding the present days Disney animals would detract from the ride as they are not [Walt] Disney, persey. Maybe updating the animals that are there and add some wild animal scenes.
As far as stagnation, you wouldn't theme a 100 year old home with items that are meant for today's homes. You keep the theme of the home or risk destroying value. I guess I am just a purist as far as Walt is concerned!!
