I had a grade-level meeting today, and at the end, my principal mentioned options for those of us with health concerns. There is a possibility that I might be able to teach home-bound students virtually this year when everyone returns to school. That would definitely solve my problem. Someone else would be teaching in my classroom.
I don't really like that, but I realize that I need to compromise right now. The only real issue is that I love my school, my classroom, my colleagues, and mostly, my administrators. I don't want to lose my position at my school. So, I emailed my principal to see if I would be guaranteed my position once there is a vaccine, and we can return to normal. I don't know if she can keep a promise like that or not.
In the meantime, there's nobody answering the phone at HR. My doctor's office is closed. My principal is in other meetings and not available to respond.
So, since I am done for the day, and there's basically nothing I can do right now except pray, I'm going to eat a healthy lunch, get some vitamin D courtesy of the sun, and go in the pool.
