We are going to Dis. this year and are on the fence about when to go..with November it would be a new experience as we have never been at Christmas time..with June it would be a joint bday present (DS is May and DD is June) but not sure if that would be wrong to make them share the trip as a present???? If we went that route they would each get a certain amount to do something special (i.e. DS would have a Lego GC!) to make it personal..so tell me which is better for lines, weather, etc?? How bad is it in June if we were to go the very first week?? Any suggestions are greatly appriciated..we normally go in the early fall lol

I have never been in November, and I'm not sure how old your children are, but it can be very hot and humid in June. If your family doesn't mind the heat, then you are good to go in June, I would think! :goodvibes

Personally, I would go in November. You could catch Food & Wine at the beginning of November. I really do not like the heat. We are going the first week in June, but it's not really my choice. We can't really take the kids out of school for a trip because they're older (oldest is a Junior in HS) so our options are pretty much spring break or summer. We went spring break March 2010 and weather was pretty COOL (jeans every day and jackets most of the time too... although it was warming up the day we left!). It was more crowded than when we went mid August 2009. But I personally prefer the cooler temps over smaller crowds (they were still very doable in March if you know what you're doing.) BUT... my DH did NOT like going in March, says it's just not right to NOT be wearing shorts and t-shirts every day in Florida. So he prefers summer. We also went this past July and I thought it was WAY too hot, so we didn't spend A LOT of time in the parks. (July was a kid-less trip, though, so it was easier to just take it easy and not spend a lot of time in the parks.)

The key to visiting WDW during the hotter months is to KEEP HYDRATED (you can get free ice water from any counter service places) and hit the parks EARLY, take breaks midday (resort rest/nap and/or swimming) and return in the evenings.

Also, when we have gone in the summer, we always take at least 2 showers a day. Helps us feel a little more refreshed.

It all depends on what you want to do while you are there. We have been several times in June and July and 3 times during Thanksgiving week. If you want to go to the water parks, which is a huge favorite with my family ( they like them better than the theme parks). Then go in June. I will say this, when we have gone in November we fly in on the Thursday or Friday before Thanksgiving and the crowds are minimal for the first few days. Plus, you can see Disney at Christmas, which I love. Good luck with your decision!;)

We have been 3 times in November and once the end of May. We prefer November, hands down. We usually arrive a few days before Thanksgiving, with Thanksgiving Day being our last park day. The lines have always been quite managable, with the day before Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving day being the most crowded (but not unbearably so). The weather is absolutely gorgeous. We wear t shirts and jeans during the day, but need a light jacket in the mornings and evenings. The Chirstmas decorations are lovely as well.

When we went this past May, we were there for Star Wars Weekends, which my family loved, but we didn't care for the heat. The lines were fairly long, but still not too bad. I guess it's just personal preference. We don't swim and certainly don't do the water parks in November. We're actually going back again for Thanksiving this year :cheer2:

it's Thanksgiving, I vote November. SO hot

in June and i think June very crowded
